This weekend I made my first trip to Ikea. But before I get into that - it's Wednesday and that means that Julia is hosting a world wide blog hop to visit desks from around the world. Go check it out. :-)
So back to my work area - I have been trying to make more floor space as I was feeling quite crowded. I still haven't figured out how to create more counter space, but I digress. So at Ikea I found a solution that helps me clean up desk top space, create more desk top space and it fits under a table so it does not interfere with my floor space.
Here is how it started:

And this is the after:
That is what I spent some time doing on Sunday. This cart it too cool!
I've already put some no slip liner in the bottom of the drawers and loaded it up. When I need more counter space, I can pull this cart out and use the space on top of the cart. And I cleared up some other counter space by putting what was on the counter top in the drawers.
Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day and be inspired.

That looks like a great storage solution! I love storage. I have no floor space. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #50

Love your new drawer unit April, I would love one of those if only my room was BIGGER!! I guess it's a case of more space more stuff lol I have always loved and collected books but even some of those have had to go to make room for my ever expanding craft stuff. Where will it all end, sigh !

Hi April Happy WOYWW - slowly getting to snoop a few more desks. OMG that's a great unit...super sized drawers and under the table so close at hand...way to go. (Scary visiting IKEA) Cheers and have a great weekend RobynO#29
ReplyDeleteThat's a good solution April - I have a cheap and cheerful set of plastic drawers that don't look nearly as nice and actually drive me mad..now I may need to cross to the Ikea catalogue!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh look at all your storage - loving it! (and wanting it) :) x
ReplyDeleteI have two of these drawer units and love 'em. Been using 'em for years. Don't put too much weight in them, though, as the drawer bottom will start to pull away from the side and back slots. I had to duct tape a few in that got too stressed and wouldn't stay in place. From Laura Pervier
