Christmas Delight at Creative Knockouts Challenge

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is Christmas Delight.  Our sponsor is Bugaboo and if you enter you have the chance to win a $12 voucher for their shop.  They have the most adorable collection of fun images to work with.

I used the stamp set Bugaboo Reindeer Blocks to create my card.

These reindeer are adorable aren't they?  I decided I wanted to use colored pencils to get the effect of fur.  I am not so sure I was successful with the fur, but I like the fun streaks the colored pencils give.  I fussy cut each of the squares and matted them with brown.  The images meet in the middle of the red mat.  I added the fun doodling around the edge of the red mat to coordinate with the doodling in the blocks.  I wanted one of the reindeer to be Rudolph, but colored them all black.  Ugh.  But it is all in the recovery.  I had a revelation - Nuvo drops.  I colored the reindeer's nose on the bottom left with the Nuvo drops and he became Rudolph.

Snow Much Fun Challenge at Creative Knockouts Challenge

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is Snow Much Fun.  Our wonderful sponsor is Mr. Digis and if you enter you have the chance to win 2 images from their shop.

I used the stamp set Snow Fun to create my card.

Snow Much Fun Card Recipe

I saw this image and it made me laugh and I thought it was perfect for this challenge.  Poor Mr. Snowman.  I used Copic Markers to color this images on the card.  To get the dog to looks furry, I colored him and then I took some colorless blender refill and soaked a paper towel.  When I say soaked - I don't mean wringing wet, but put a good bit on a balled up paper towel.  Then I dabbed the dog with the fluid lightly.  I noticed it made some of the color run outside the lines, but that actually made him look more furry.  I am really pleased with the result.  I added one of my favorite sentiments from Paper Smooches and a word I use quite frequently.  I use it so much my granddaughter also says it.  Got to love kids.  I found the snowflakes in my Christmas stuff and added them for a more snowy effect.  I matted the card in red to bring out the snowman's hat and it is my favorite color.
