Jan's Digi Stamps Anything Goes Challenge

It is the third Monday of the month and that means another challenge on Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges Blog.  Always anything goes means lot of fun and creativity.  Two lucky winners will be awarded a $10 Gift Code to the on-line store.  One winner will be from only those entries that used a Jan's Digi Stamp image and the second from all other entries.

Finding an image for my card was easy because of the wonderful selection at the Jan's Digi Stamps on-line store.

Christmas Card

The beauty of this image is that it was already colored.  I took the Ornaments 2021 set along with a sentiment from the Santa's Gift set.  I just recently discovered Oxide Ink Spray and I just love it.  I am a paint splatter fan and the spray mimics paint splatter.  I decided to spray lightly over the image with Rustic Wilderness.  I then dabbed a brush that had some water on the ornaments to break up the green.  I backed the sentiment in the card stock sprayed with green.  Evidently I was in a green mood because I also matted the card in green.

I hope you take the time to go look at Jan's Digi Stamps, she's got some great images and the pre colored images are great if you are pressed for time, but want to give someone a hand made card.  I hope the holidays find you and your family doing well.

Have a great day, eat some chocolate and be kind to everyone.

Tis the Season Challenge at Creative Knockouts

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is Tis the Season.  Our sponsor is TheArtsystamper and if you enter you have the chance to win an image from the shop.

I used digi stamp Amaryllis to create my card.

Tis the Season Card Recipe

This set comes with an image that is colored and an image that is not colored.  I used the colored image because I am always running behind.  LOL. This gorgeous flower was printed twice on heavy card stock.  I fussy cut the flower from the second print because I was too lazy to pull out my Brother Scan n Cut and all the tops of my tables are covered with projects in process.  Are you feeling sorry for me yet?  I popped the fussy cut image on top of the full image only after splattering the full image with gold Kuretake water color paint.  Once I did that, I place the fussy cut image on top and then splattered with the white Kuretake water color.  I stamped Merry Christmas in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Range Platinum embossing powder.  I matted the card in an orangy red and put it on a black card base.  I am very happy with the way it turned out.  I may use this design for my Christmas cards.  And no - I haven't made my Christmas cards yet.  I work better under

It's the 1st Saturday of the month and that means it is time for another challenge at the Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge Blog.  The theme for this challenge is Winter Cards 4 Kids or Anything Goes 4 Kids.  This challenge no longer has sponsors so you will be participating for pride not prize.

Winter Cards 4 Kids Card Recipe

I recently went to a crop last month and saw this adorable stamp set by Avery Elle and I am going to confess that I CASE'd the card they had as a sample.  I had some snowflakes expand after I stamped them in Hero Arts white Unicorn ink, but snow isn't perfect, right?  I stamped the trees in brown ink using my new MISTI that I bought at the crop from the Doodlebug in Jasper, IN.  I'm not sure I see the benefit of the new MISTI, but I am sure I will.  :-). I'm definitely a MISTI fan be it the old or the new.  I stamped the birds on some thick card stock that held a charm pack of fabric so it was very thick.  I had to dry the ink with my heat gun because I stamped on the shiny white side.  I used my Tombow markers to color the birds and I fussy cut them out.  The sentiment also came in the stamp set.  I am going to use this set to make cards for my card swap group.

Here is a link to the Doodlebug store in Indiana - if you're ever in that area you should stop by - Hannah has a wonderful little shop

Winter Wonderland Challenge at Creative Knockouts

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is Winter Wonderland.  Our sponsor is Fabrika Fantasy and if you enter you have the chance to win images from the shop.

I used digi stamp Pre Colored Winter Images to create my card.

Thankful Thoughts Card Recipe

I printed off the cute image of the squirrel from the winter collection of images.  This little guy looks so festive.  I printed off 2 (by accident) of the images.  Actually on one his little feet were cut off, but he had the package so I cut out the package and popped it up on the image for my card.  I didn't want to take away from this cute image so I stamped Merry Christmas on a small piece of red card stock and inked around the edges.  I added some silver gel pen to the highlights in places and layered on festive printed card stock.  Check out the Gnomes Christmas set in the link above for some adorable images.

Anything Goes Challenge at Creative Knockouts

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is Anything Goes.  Our sponsor is Twinkle Lane Designs and if you enter you have the chance to win 2 digi images from the shop.

I used digi stamp Hot Chocolate Girl to create my card.

Anything Goes Card Recipe

I found this image on the Twinkle Lane store and just fell in love with it.  I love winter and warm winter clothes and coffee.  I grabbed my Copics and starting coloring.  I used colors in the BG family and the V family.  Once I finished coloring her, I inked around the white card stock with some Hero Arts ink, and then cut mats.  I sprayed the first mat with oxide ink from Tim Holtz in the color Villainous Potion.  I inked the edge of the next mat with Hero Arts ink.  I printed the sentiment and inked and matted that and placed it on the card.  I used some Ink of Stella on her lips to give them a little sparkle.  I used a silver gel pen to put little stars on the white background for a little more interest.

Happy Holiday Card 4 Kids Challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids

It's the 1st Saturday of the month and that means it is time for another challenge at the Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge Blog.  The theme for this challenge is Happy Holiday Card 4 Kids or Anything Goes 4 Kids.  This challenge no longer has sponsors so you will be participating for pride not prize.

Send a Smile 4 Kids charity is dedicated to collecting and distributing handmade cards to children who are inpatient at Children's Hospitals.  Please send us your handmade kids' cards for holidays, birthdays, and everyday cheer.  Help us put a smile on our kids' faces.

Holiday Cards 4 Kids Card Recipe

I used a technique I recently learned at a crop at Lake Barkley in Kentucky.  A friend of mine, Rita, always has the coolest techniques in her classes.  In this technique I used glue from Tonic Studio and covered my rubber stamp in the glue.  I stamped the snowflakes from Hero Arts on the black card stock.  Once the glue was no longer white, I sprinkled Tonic Silver Gilding Flakes and used a sponge in a circular motion to 'rub' in the flakes.  I die cut the be jolly sentiment from Stamploration in a glittery red card stock.  I cut out multiple layers of the sentiment to give it some dimension.  I added some bling with clear rhinestones and that is my card.

Thankful Thoughts Challenge at Creative Knockouts

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is Thankful Thoughts.  Our sponsor is Leanns World and if you enter you have the chance to win 2 images from the shop.

I used digi stamp Daisy and Bella Pre-Coloured to create my card.

Thankful Thoughts Card Recipe

I printed off the cute image of Daisy and Bella holding their trick or treat pumpkins.  I decided layering was the best way to show off this image.  I found some Halloween paper in my stash and started creating the different layers.  These girls look like great friends and the thing they would be most thankful for would be their friendship which inspired the sentiment.  Of course I had to find a fun piece of Halloween paper for the background and the 5 Doodlebug enamel dots with sparkles topped off the card.

Halloween or Fall Cards 4 Kids Card Recipe

I was behind as always.  I actually turned in last month's card early and I just knew I would forget about the month of September.  It was a self fulfilling prophecy.  I pulled out an old faithful from My Favorite Things and decided I was going to color only some elements of the images I stamped.  And of course I had to add some splatter.  I found some fall plaid card stock from Lawn Fawn and used it to mat my card front.  These mice are so cute and I just love fall weather.  Starbucks and Dunkin have Pumpkin Spice flavored coffee - yum!  And it is getting dark earlier.  I am looking forward to wearing blue jeans and sweatshirt and socks.  LOL. So here you go - September's card.
