Halloween or Fall Cards 4 Kids at the Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge

It's the 1st Saturday of the month and that means it is time for another challenge at the Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge Blog.  The theme for this challenge is Cards 4 Halloween or Fall or Anything Goes 4 Kids.  This challenge no longer has sponsors so you will be participating for pride not prize.

Send a Smile 4 Kids charity is dedicated to collecting and distributing handmade cards to children who are inpatient at Children's Hospitals.  Please send us your handmade kids' cards for holidays, birthdays, and everyday cheer.  Help us put a smile on our kids' faces.

Halloween or Fall Cards 4 Kids Card Recipe

I was behind as always.  I actually turned in last month's card early and I just knew I would forget about the month of September.  It was a self fulfilling prophecy.  I pulled out an old faithful from My Favorite Things and decided I was going to color only some elements of the images I stamped.  And of course I had to add some splatter.  I found some fall plaid card stock from Lawn Fawn and used it to mat my card front.  These mice are so cute and I just love fall weather.  Starbucks and Dunkin have Pumpkin Spice flavored coffee - yum!  And it is getting dark earlier.  I am looking forward to wearing blue jeans and sweatshirt and socks.  LOL. So here you go - September's card.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Consider entering our challenge and donating your hand made cards to our great charity.

Funny Card Challenge at Creative Knockouts

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is All Stitched Up.  Our sponsor is Dr. Digi's and if you enter you have the chance to win 2 images from the shop.

I used digi stamp Climbing Kittens to create my card.

Funny Card Recipe

I knew when I saw this image that I had the perfect sentiment for it.  Are You Kitten Me? Is from my old Fun Stampers Journey days.  I thought that sentiment was hilarious and I still do.  I printed off the image and stamped my sentiment.  I inked around the edges of the card front for interest.  I found some card stock with kitty images on it and that yard print just yelled - pick me!  pick me!  It is such a cute image that it can stand alone without any extras.

Christmas in July Challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is Christmas in July.  Our sponsor is Paper Shelter and if you enter you have the chance to win 3 images from the shop.

I used digi stamp Snowman to create my card.

Christmas in July Card Recipe

I know it is July and Christmas is 5 months away, but judging how quickly time is flying by, Christmas will be here before we know it!  I found this snowman in the Paper Shelter Shop and thought he looked like a lot of fun.  I decided to go with colors that aren't traditionally Christmas, but it is Christmas in July so I figured I could get away with some creative liberties.  LOL.

As always, I printed this digi from Word.  I colored the snowman with some Copic Markers and I am quite pleased with the colors I chose.  The 'merry' word die is from Lawn Fawn and cut out in card stock that coordinates with the green in his scarf and hat.  I stamped Christmas using a stamp from Hero Arts (I cut the stamp between Merry and Christmas - crazy I know) and stamped it in a purple from Hero Arts that coordinated with the purple in his scarf as well.  The snow was embellished with clear Nuvo Drops.  I matted the card front with purple card stock and there you have it.

Celebrations Challenge at Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is Celebrations.  Our sponsor is Sheepski and if you enter you have the chance to win 2 images from the shop.

I used digi stamp Gerbera Daisy to create my card.

Celebrations Card Recipe

The first thing I did was figure out how to make my image gray instead of black before I printed the image.  I found I could do that in word.  Once printed, I dipped one of my makeup brushes in gray ink that had been mildly diluted with water and flicked it on my flower.  I did the same with some Oxide Candied Apple ink that had also been diluted with water.  The gray and pearl 'drops' on my card are Nuvo drops.  By the way if your Nuvo 'drops' look like chocolate chips - store the bottles upside down.  You will be amazed at the difference it makes.  I also added a couple gems, but used the pearl Nuvo drops to attach them and I think that took away some of their sparkle.  The 'celebrate' word is a die from MFT and I cut that out using black card stock and brown (I didn't have black) fun foam.  I glued the 2 together so my word has some elevation on the card.  I plopped the card front on a red mat and then on a card base and there you have it.  I think next time I will make sure my flower is further up and place my word a little lower so as not to hide any of that beautiful Gerber Daisy.

Furry Friends Challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is to use the recipe below.  Our sponsor is Bugaboo and if you enter you have the chance to win 2 images from the shop.

I used digi stamp Birthday Puppies to create my card.

Furry Friends Card Recipe

I absolutely love Bugaboo Stamps.  The stamps are quite whimsical and they inspire me to create.  I actually made this card for the recipe challenge, but Bugaboo wasn't sponsoring the recipe challenge, they were sponsoring the furry friends challenge.  That was the first time I'd ever submitted my design card early.  You know I work best under pressure.  ;-).   I printed the image on my Kodak printer and colored it with Copic Markers.  You can't really go wrong with this cute puppy and the colorful presents.  I used an old birthday print card stock for the background and added fun enamel bubble dots for interest.  The Happy Birthday was stamped on a piece of white card stock and plopped on a coordinating blue card stock.  I placed that in the corner so it looks like the puppy is peering around it.

Cards 4 Teens Card Recipe

This card features a free printable from Catherine Pooler.  You can find it here:  https://shop.catherinepooler.com/products/spreading-rainbows-download?_pos=2&_sid=6ebd23991&_ss=r
You can print it on plain white paper and ink it up or use your water color look paper, print it and add your favorite embellishments.  I decided to ink mine up with rainbow colors.  My granddaughter says her favorite color is rainbow and I think that might be my favorite color too.  Rainbows are so bright and happy and just make me smile.  I think a teen might enjoy getting this card from someone.  Once the ink dried, I spritzed it with water to get the splotchy look and I added some colored gems.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Consider entering our challenge and donating your hand made cards to our great charity.
