Vintage Typewriter Stamp for Thinking of You Card

I love the old typwriter my Mom gave me and everytime I see a stamp with an old typewriter - I must have it.  This stamp is from Hero Arts.  I used Versamark ink to stamp white cardstock.  I embossed with a combination of clear and black embossing powder.  I stamped it again using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and cut out the paper.  I used a notebook edge paper punch to punch the top of the paper.  I stamped the sentiment on the paper, distressed with Tim Holtz Old Paper and then popped it up on the background stamp.  It was simple, but I like the way it turned out.

I hope you have a great day and be inspired.

Molly Takes over Project Life - Since I Won't

I was down in my craft room trying to organize and Molly jumped up on the table where I have my Project Life 'stuff'.  I have been horrible about keeping up with my Project Life so I believe she was trying to tell me that since I'm not going to work on it - she was.

Aren't her green eyes gorgeous?

Have a great day and be inspired.

CASing Darlenedesign.com - Flowers Using Stampin Up and Inktense

I love to watch the videos that Darlene does on Darlene Design.  I often try to recreate her cards myself.  And though I am not as talented as she is - I think I improve every time I try to imitate her work.

Here is the link to the blog post for the card I cased in this post - Easy Watercolor Technique

Here is what I created:

I used Tim Holtz Distress inks to create the backgrounds along with a flower stamp from the Stampin Up Secret Garden set.  I created the flowers in the forefront using the same Stampin Up flower, but stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  I colored the flowers using Inktense pencils and water just like Darlene did in her tutorial.

I hope you find some ideas on Darlene's blog - I know I always do.

Have a great day and be inspired.

WOYWW 203 - MOJO Found

It is Wednesday and that means share your desk day.  If you are not familiar with this practice head over to Julia's Blog for some eye candy - Stamping Ground.  This is where you will find loads of work desks from around the world.

I think my MOJO has finally returned.  I worked on casing some of Darlene's cards from Darlenedesign.com.  You might spy them on my desk.  I plan on finishing those up tonight and starting some more.  :-)

As you can see - Pumpkin is harassing Peanut (one of the new additions since the family moved back in).

Last night while I was working away at my card front, Molly was lying across the keyboard of my computer.  Then walked over and sat on one my my cards.  Geez!  Cats!

I also noticed last night my calendar is still on March.  I forgot to change it to April although there is not much of this month left.  I'm living in the past.  LOL

Have a great day and be inspired.

Up Up and Away - Craft a Scene

I've been working on scenes this week.  This scene is the farm from a balloon eye view for Craft a Scene.  I used a digital stamp from The Stamping Boutique.  There are some really cute farm scenes on this site.  I copied it with Copic Markers.  I then used a Stamp and Cut set from Hero Arts to create the hot air balloon for the focal image of the card.  I'm not really happy with the hot air balloon colors, but I like the concept of the card.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Down on the Farm

I've been working on a couple cards with a down on the farm scenes.  The digital stamps I used are from Digital Delights by Louby Loo - digitaldelightsbyloubyloo.

I really like how this card turned out.  And Charley the Cow is absolutely adorable.  I used Copic Markers to color the scene.  I added the wood grain with a sharpie skinny marker.

Have a great day and be inspired.

WOYWW 201 - Missing Mojo

It is again Wednesday and I am looking for some much needed crafting mojo.  I missed last week and I refuse to miss again this week.  :-)  If you want to know what I missed, go to Julia's site Stamping Ground where you will find many work desks to meander through.

Here is my work desk:

Not much has changed.  I've just been shopping instead of creating and using what I have.
Here is what I am trying for my skinny Big Shot dies:

I think I am going to like it.  I can see what I have.  It is a sheet of magnet sticky 'paper'.  I just cut it into strips.  Now I need more.  :-)

Well I need to get back to work.  And tonight I am going to go surfing and see what I missed last week.

Have a great day and be inspired.
