Pretty Poppy - Again

I colored this Doodle Pantry poppy digi stamp with Copic Markers.  The card is very simple since I put so much efford into coloring the stamp.  This is one of my favorite flowers and my favorite stamps.

This card will be donated to Operation Write Home.  This organization sends handmade cards to our troops serving away from home.  Our troops send those cards home to their loved ones to stay in touch while they are away.  We also send encouraging letters to our heroes to remind them they are remembered at home.  Check out the website if you are interested in contributing cards or Anyhero letters.

Have a great day and be inspired.

WOYWW 216 - The Animal Kingdom

Once again it is Wednesday and thanks to Julia at the Stamping Ground it is the day to share a picture of your work desk.  And a day to nose around other crafter's work area.  If you want to take a peek - go check it out.

I went to a crop last Saturday in support of Klothe-a-kid.  A friend of mine has become involved in the charity.  This charity provides food and clothing to children and their families in Kentucky who are in need.
I was able to complete quite a few pages.  I did cheat - 2 of the 2 pages layouts are mainly maps of 2 different Disney parks.  You can check out my other posts to see what I accomplished.

Here is my desk this week:

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a great day and be inspired.

Doodle Pantry - Lilly of the Valley

This pretty little digi stamp from Doodle Pantry was colored with Copic markers.  The background paper and frame are part of the Poppy collection by Little Yellow Bicycle.  I need to look up what company made this paper pack - it is one of my faves right now.  I had purchased a bag of irridescant sequins on clearance from Michaels quite some time ago.  I like the three different variations of the colors that are in the cardstock.  The frame was cut out using Nestabilities die.

This card will be donated to Operation Write Home.  This organization sends hand made cards to our troops serving away from home.  They in turn send the cards home to their loved ones to stay in touch.  Also included in those shipments of cards are Anyhero letters.  These letters are written to our heroes to let them know we appreciate the sacrifices they are making.  Consider writing a letter or 2 to include in your donation of cards to OWH.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Doodle Daffodil

This beautiful stamp is a digi from Doodle Pantry.  I used Copic Markers to color the flowers.  The flower was cut out using a Nestabilities die.  The background paper is from a 6x6 paper pack called Poppy by Little Yellow Bicycle.

This card will be going to Operation Write Home to be sent to our troops.  If you want to donate hand made cards to a worthy cause - go visit the website to get all the details.

Have a great day and be inspired.

CAS with Washi Tape

First of all I want to say - I am really enjoying the versatility of the washi tape.  I've used it on scrapbook layouts and cards.  And it can be used to tack things down while you work on them.  Awesome stuff.
Then I want to say - I just LOVE the Paper Smooches font that is on the front of this card.  I really want the Paper Smooches Slang Gang set - it is on my wish list now.

Since this is a CAS card - there's not much to say - washi tape and a Paper Smooches sentiment.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Unity's Biggest Fan

I am a member of the Unity Stamp of the Week Club.  Unity makes the cutest stamps.  I need to focus on using all those stamps.  They build up quickly when you get one every week.

This is a CAS card that I made based on another card I saw on Jazzypaper Blogspot.  Mine is quite a bit different, but that card was my inspiration.

I used Hero Arts inks on the card in the background.  I used Momento Tuxedo Black on the card in the front for the black elements.  I used Stampin Up ink on the ink splatters (Stampin Up Gorgeous Grunge) Gumball Green and Poppy Parade.  I like the brightness of the Stampin Up colors.

These cards will be going to OWH.  If you have any extra cards and are interested in donating hand made cards to our troops visit the web site.  Or you might just be looking for the opportunity to put your craftiness to good use.  Operation Write Home can always use cards to send to our troops allowing them to keep in touch with their loved ones.  If you don't make cards, you can always write letters to our heroes letting them know you appreciate the sacrifice they are making.  Got to the website for more information.

Have a great day and be inspired.

The Haunted Mansion - BOO

My favorite part of this layout is the haunted mansion sticker.  I found that sticker at Michaels and knew it would make my Haunted Mansion layout from our Disney trip.  My best memory of the Haunted Mansion is of my 14 and 17 year old being so scared when we started the Haunted Mansion ride that we had to exit through one of the early exit doors.  I wlil never let them forget it.  This ride is NOT that scary.  LOL

I used my Kiwi Lane Templates to create the curved layers.  I used a Cricut Cartridge (can't remember which one) to cut out the ghosts.  I used some googly eyes from a package of varied eyes that I found at Michaels.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Poppies - My Favorite Flower - Well One of Them

I just love poppies.  I cannot get them to grow in my flower beds for anything.  My mother just throws down the seeds and has fields of poppies every year.  So if I want to enjoy poppies - I have to stamp and color them.  This is a digital stamp from Doodle Pantry.  I used Copic Markers.  I love this color red.  I added some coordinating paper and some pearls.

I will be sending this card to OWH.  If you would like to donate your hand made cards to our troops serving away from home go check out the web site.  This gives our service men and women an opportunity to keep in touch with loved ones while they are away from home.

Have a great day and be inspired.

WOYWW 215 - The Size of a Mouse Pad

It is once again Wednesday and that means that I get to take a picture of my desk and go to The Stamping Ground and see some other awesome work desks from around the world.

Here is my work area.  For some reason Molly thinks she owns my craft room.

I have a work space about the size of my Robert Patton mousepad.  It is crazy!  But it is what it is.

And here is just another view of my overcrowded crafting space.

I've been busy making cards.  I've wanted to do more CAS cards so that is going to be my focus for a while.

I will see you all in blog land.

Have a great day and be inspired.

A Rose by Any Other Name....

I just happened upon these papers after I followed a Darlene Tutorial to stamp and color this rosebud - Two Step Stamping Tutorial.  I used Stampin Up A Rose is a Rose stamp set to try Darlene's technique.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink colors Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Peeled Paint.  I stamped the water color paper and used a water brush to blend the colors.

If you are a cardmaker and want to participate in a great charity, go to OWH.  You can send your extra cards to the shipper for your area and those cards will go to our service men and women allowing them to keep in touch with their loved ones at home.  Why hand made cards - because our heroes are worth it.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Kiwi Lane - It's All I Can Do!

We are still in Hollywood Studios and I am still using Kiwi Lane Templates as well as the Kiwi Lane Idea Book to come up with some fun layouts.  The Mickey head is just 3 circles put together.

The Memories sticker is one I found at Archviers.

I still use my Creative Memories cutting system.  It is my favorite.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Puppy Love

I just love this little digi stamp.  It is called Better than a Thousand Words and is available at Sassy Cheryls Stamps.  I colored it with Copic markers.  I created the knots in the wood with a Sharpie fine tip pen.  I used a punch to create the border on the kraft card stock.

If you are a card maker or would just like to write our heroes a letter letting them know you appreciate what they are doing and the sacrifice they are making go to OWH.  This charity organization sends hand made cards to troops serving away from home.  This enables our service members the ability to keep in touch with their loved ones.  Or you can just write a letter to let one of our heroes know you care.

Have a great day and be inspired.

The Return of Scrapbooking MoJo

I'm using my Kiwi Lane templates and some Bo Bunny paper to create this layout.  I also used the Kiwi Lane accessory sets - Accents and Nature.

I popped up the flowers with Stampin Up dimensionals.  And inked all the edges with brown ink.

These pictures are from Hollywood Studios.  The back drop is a facade.

I have had the scrapbooking mojo lately.  Scrapbooking is what got me started in all this and it is my first crafting love.

Have a great day and be inspired.

CASEing Darlene and Not Doing It Very Well

Well, this did not turn out the way I'd hoped.  I was caseing Darlene and I didn't do a very good job of it.  Here is her card - Ellen Hutson CLASSroom.

Let me just say that Darlene makes using gelatos look easy.  If you notice I colored quite out of the lines.  I picked different colors so it wouldn't look like I was totally copying her.  LOL  And red is my favorite color, too.  I did like the gelatos - they spread very easily, but I need to practice using them.

I used the same Hero Arts Cling Stamp Everything Flowers, Faber Castell Gelatos and Faber Castell Pitt pens.

If you too like making cards and have some extras, consider sending them to OWH.  This is a charity whose purpose is sending hand made cards to our service members serving away from home.  Our heroes in turn send the cards to loved ones to keep in touch.  Even if you don't make cards they also need letters to our heroes letting them know we haven't forgotten about the sacrifices they are making for their country.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Washi Tape - How Sweet it is

I have had washi tape for a while.  It was on sale at my favorite scrapbooking store and I just HAD to have it.  I knew I was going to be working on a Disney album so I purchased washi tape in Disney colors - red, yellow and black.  I finally used it for the first time this past weekend.  I do like the way it turned out.

This layout is a Hollywood Studios collage.  This is the first time in a while that I haven't used my Kiwi Lane, but I thought this layout was more condusive to using washi tape.  The background paper is from a book of Disney paper I found at the same store.  I will definitely be using more washi tape.  I love the fact that you can just tear it.  And I thought the film strip tape was adorable.

Have a great day and be inspired.

WOYWW 214 - Wrapping Up

It is once again Wednesday which means that I take a picture of my work area and share with my internet friends on Julia's Blog - The Stamping Ground.

Go visit if you want to see creativity from around the globe.

I have been finishing up some projects that I have been working on.  This also means I am straightening up so that I can start new projects.  As always I am working on cards for OWH, but I have also been doing some scrapbooking - working on my Disney trip.  I am sooooooo far behind, but have several crops set up in the next month and hope to get lots done.

There was another stand off in the craft room:

I hope to visit many more desks tonight than I have been able to in the past couple weeks.  Wish me luck.

Have a great day and be inspired.

A Sweet and Sassy Tulip

If you follow my blog at all - you know I LOVE flowers.  This flower is from a set at Sweet and Sassy Stamps.  I colored with Copic markers.  And I was on a roll when I put this card together.  To finish it I added three pearls.  Tulips are one of my favorite flowers.  I hope one of our soldiers pick this card to send home to their loved one.

If you have some extra time to make extra cards or maybe have some extra cards, check out OWH.  A card donation will enable our military serving away from home to send cards to their loved ones while they are away.

Have a great day and be inspired.

CASEing (Stalking) Tami Again

Poor Tami - I've been picking on her lately, but don't worry Darlene, there are still some of your cards that I need to make.  ;-)  You can find Tami at stampwithtami.

She used the Stampin Up set - Inspired By Nature and here is my version of her card:

I think I shouldn't have lined up the words as much as I did.  I do like how they turned out though. I copied Tami, but I used Tombo Markers because I didn't have the right colors of the Stampin Up Markers.  I will definitely use this technique again.  I might use kraft card stock to create a small tag with a sentiment and attach it to the twine.

If you have some extra cards visit OWH to find out the details about donating those extra cards to our troops who are serving.  They can send those cards home to their loved ones enabling them to stay in touch with a special card.  Or you can write letters of encouragement to our troops so they know someone cares.  Or better yet - you can do both.

Have a great day and be inspired.

In the meantime, here is my desk.  I'm preparing for some scrapbooking this weekend.  I'm so far behind on my scrapbooking and July is the month to scrapbook - at least for me.  :-)

CASEing Tami at stampwithtami.com

I've found someone to stalk in addition to Darlene Design.  Her name is Tami and this is one of the cards I CASEd.  You can find her at Stamp with Tami.

I used a brayer and Stampin Up inks.  The grass stamp is Stampin Up Inspired By Nature.  I really like the way the card turned out. I think if I could only take one stamp set with me to a desert island - I would take Stampin Up Inspired by Nature.  I just love that stamp set.

If you make cards and have some extras - check out Operation Write Home.  Your cards can be donated to our troops who are serving their country.  They use these cards to keep in touch with their loved ones at home.  Or if you're not a card maker - you can write letters to our heroes to let them know how much you appreciate the sacrifices they are making for their country.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Ladies and Gentleman - Start Your Engines

I spent this weekend at the races at Kentucky Motor Speedway.  I went to the truck race on Thursday, the Nationwide Race on Friday and the Sprint Cup Race on Saturday (got rained out) and on Sunday.  It seriously cut into my crafting time, but my DH loves this stuff.

Here is who won the race - Matt Kenseth

This car had the U of L Cardinal NCAA Championship paint job:

And this is my guy - Carl Edwards.  He started out well, but did not finish well at all.  :-(

Even though I didn't get to make any cards, I sure got some great pictures for scrapbooking.

If you don't watch Nascar, you will have time to make some extra cards that you can donate to Operation Write Home.  And if you don't make cards, you can write encouraging letters to our troops who are serving. we don't want them to forget - we appreciate what they do for their country.

Have a great day and be inspired.
