OWH Blog Hop - Red White and Blue

memdaybloghop_2014

Today is the OWH Memorial Day Weekend Blog Hop.

225

I loosely followed OWH sketch 225 for my card.

Here is my first version:

and then I took it a little further:

I didn't notice at the time my heart was upside down.  :-)  What do ya do?

Please hop on over to The OWH Red White and Blue Memorial Day Blog Hop and enjoy all the eye candy. And then while you're inspired, go make some cards for OWH.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a great day and be inspired.

Romans 3:23 - 24  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

  1. Wow, you really rocked that sketch! I love the simplicity of the first one, but those puffy hearts are too cool. As for the heart, it's merely spinning from love. :) That's a great stamp!

  10. I don't think the heart not being right-side-up is critical...I like the way the sentiment was done.....nice layering with the stars....

  16. I like both cards, and hearts that are separated by deployment probably do feel upside down.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Very nice cards and I agree with what many of the others said about your upside down heart!!! Maybe you have a punch close to the same size as the image so you could stamp another and layer it on top of the star ?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Really like the offset stars and banners! Would leave the heart upside down, adds interest!

  34. Way cute cards, the second now is my fav. even with an upside heart!

  35. Oh, I absolutely love that second card! What dies did you use for the stars?
My daughter made a card with a similar stamp (the Miss You All the Time stamp from Hero Arts' OWH set) and did the same thing - the clock was upside down! We just stamped another one and fussy-cut it, then glued it over the original stamp. It ended up adding a bit of dimension that we liked better anyway!

I didnt even notice the heart till you mentioned it....but sure, restamp and layer on if it is bothering you. Maybe distress edge it and it will look like it was done on purpose :)

  44. An upside down postage stamp means "I love you" (least how I learned it back in the days of mail and not computers), so your stamp being upside down fits perfectly. Great cards. From Laura Pervier
