It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is Anything Goes.  Our wonderful sponsor is Imagine That Digi Stamps and if you enter you have the chance to win a $12 coupon.

I used the image Mailbox Kitties to create my card.

Anything Goes Card Recipe

I printed the digi image and colored it with Copic Markers.  I matted the sentiment and the image with yellow card stock.  I popped up the sentiment.  Then I added some crystals and put it on a card base.

WOYWW - 537 - Still Pretty Clean

It is Wednesday which means it is time for WOYWW at Julia's Stamping Ground.  My desk once again looks a lot like Sue's, but I have a surprise.

My side desk is piled high with projects in progress.  :-)

Now I am off to see everyone elses work space.

Have a great day and eat some chocolate.

Quilting with Panels and Pool Noodles + No Binding

Want to make a quick lap quilt - let's use a panel, some coordinating fabric and some batting.  We're not gonna bind it either.  And though I know it sounds crazy - we're gonna use pool noodles to help us make the quilt sandwich.

I found this adorable panel and the backing fabric at Hobby Lobby.  Watch the video to find out the best way to put the pieces of fabric together.  After the first one, I've gotten pretty good at building my sandwich and top stitching around the edges.

To give the quilt more dimension - I added some free motion quilting around the different images.  My daughter snagged it before I could get a picture of the finished quilt after it had been free motion quilted and washed.

Have a great day - enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

WOYWW 536 - Joining Back in the Fun

I have been MIA from WOYWW at Julia's Stamping Ground for a while now, but I always missed joining in the fun.  I took a little break from posting on my blog as a 3 year old kind of took over my life.  But I have adjusted and am ready to get back in the game.  My desk today looks a lot like Sue's at Graceful Greyhounds.  Her desk is always so nice and tidy.  :-)

I have a video if you would like to see the whole craft room clean.  It won't last long, I promise.

I look forward to perusing desks of old friends and new deskers.

It is the anniversary of a horrible day in the US and I hope everyone takes a moment to remember those who lost their lives and gave their lives.  And remember those who lost loved ones and who remember every day.  Never forget.

Have a great day and eat some chocolate.

Halloween or Fall Cards for Kids at Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge Blog

It's the 1st Saturday of the month and that means it is time for another challenge at the Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge Blog.  The theme for this challenge is Cards 4 Halloween or Anything Goes 4 Kids.  This challenge no longer has sponsors so you will be participating for pride not prize.

Send a Smile 4 Kids charity is dedicated to collecting and distributing handmade cards to children who are inpatient at Children's Hospitals.  Please send us your handmade kids' cards for holidays, birthdays, and everyday cheer.  Help us put a smile on our kids' faces.

Cards 4 Halloween or Fall Card Recipe

I started with some water color card stock and inked it up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  I spritzed that with some water to make the background look more like a sky.  I also masked a moon while I inked the image.  I used a yellow Tombow marker to outline the moon.  I colored the cute Lawn Fawn images with Copic markers and cut them out with my Brother Scan n Cut.  The sentiment is also from the Lawn Fawn Halloween stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Consider entering our challenge and donating your hand made cards to our great charity.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

Quilting - Keeping it Real When It is all Going Wrong

So my youngest daughter's birthday was in August and she told me that a quilt top that I was working on would be a good birthday gift for her.  I thought that was a perfect idea.  And then I started working on the border and the backing.  Ugh.

I must have been brain dead because I cut the material the wrong way for the border.  I sewed wrong sides together for the backing and for the first time since I started free motion quilting - I had to tear out stitches.  And believe me if I tear out a stitch - IT IS BAD.

Check out the first video in this series of how it all went wrong.  But even though it all went wrong - I still think the quilt will be okay.  :-)

I had a little visitor who also kept me entertained.

I am not a professional quilting, I just do it for fun.  I am sure there are others out there like me so I want to keep quilting real by showing what goes right as well as what goes wrong.

Have a great day and enjoy some chocolate.

Finish the Inside Challenge at Creative Knockouts

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is Finish the Inside.  Our wonderful sponsor is Dr. Digi's Digital Stamps and if you enter you have the chance to win 4 images.

I used the image Chico the Chihuahua to create my card.

Finish the Inside Card Recipe

I printed the digi image out on Neenah Solar White card stock.  I colored this cute little chihuahua with Copic Markers.  I used the image for the inside of my card.  My friend Rhonda stamped the paw prints on the outside of the card and I decided to put the sentiment on the inside of the card.  I matted the paw prints with a brown and used a circle die to cut through the layers of card stock to create the window.
