Favorite Color Combo - Creative Knockouts Challenge

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is to use your favorite color combination.  Our wonderful sponsor is Hetty Clare and if you enter you have the chance to win 4 images for their shop.

I used the stamp set girl and dog to create my card.

Favorite Color Combo Card Recipe

I printed this adorable digi on white card stock using my Kodak printer.  The dog reminds me of my dog Gracie so it was great fun to color with Copic markers.  I used a My Favorite Things cloud stencil with some of my new Catherine Pooler ink to create the clouds.  The sentiment is also from My Favorite Things.  And my favorite color combination is red and the blue.  It is kind of a turquoise blue.  It is one of my favorite color combos, but for some reason I don't use it very often.  I like it so I should. LOL

Anything Goes Challenge at Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is a Fancy Flourishes.  Our wonderful sponsor is Di's Digis and if you enter you have the chance to win a $6 voucher for their shop.

I used a stamp set from Stampendous to create my card.

Anything Goes Card Recipe

This stamp was stamped with regular black and colored with glitter pens that makes it shimmer.  I used my Brother ScanNCut 2 to cut out the images.  I placed them on some paper from Lawn Fawn with a wood grain pattern and popped up the images in the front.  I colored a little area beneath the vase with brown marker so I didn't look like the vase was floating in mid air.

Cards 4 Tweens Card Recipe

This image is one of my favorites because I LOVE Cala Lillies.  I used glitter pens and water to create this rainbow bouquet on watercolor card stock.  That was after I stamped the image with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Fancy Flourishes Challenge at Creative Knockout

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is a Fancy Flourishes.  Our wonderful sponsor is Star Stampz and if you enter you have the chance to win a 3 images for their shop.

I used the Sunflower Smiles to create my card.

Fancy Flourishes Card Recipe

This cute digi was printed on Georgia Pacific 110 lb Georgia Pacific paper.  I broke out the Copic markers and started coloring.  Initially, I drew some flourishes around the image, but I didn't like the way it looked at all.  So instead I fussy cut around the image.  I set about to look for my quilling tools.  They are in a wallet that I can picture in my mind.  But can I find it in my highly organized craft room?  NO - I cannot.  LOL.  I also have a tool that has multiple tips including one with the ball to use for giving paper dimension.  I know where that tool is, but do I know where the tips are?  NO - I do not.  So I took the clicker end of a pen and used that to give the flowers some dimension.  I found some paper with some pretty flourishes to use as the background from Simple Stories.  Now although I don't know where my quilling tools are, I do know where my bling is.  I pulled out those gems and glued them on as a final touch.

The Cricut Joy and How to Avoid the Mistake I Made

For my birthday, HSN was having Craft Day.  I love Craft Day on HSN and I love flex pay.  So by the end of the evening, I decided that I should get myself a Cricut Joy.  The main feature that convinced me to buy the machine was the card mat.  How cool, to have a mat that could be used to cut out an image on your card base.  So I proceeded to buy.

Check out my video on how to use the card mat and what NOT to do!

If you are interested in purchasing a Cricut Joy, you can use the affiliate link below.  I get a small commission at no cost to you.

Cricut - 20% off all accessories

Funny Card at Creative Knockouts Challenge

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is a funny card.  Our wonderful sponsor is Jan's Digi Stamps and if you enter you have the chance to win a $10 gift card for her shop.

I used the Wine Friends to create my card.

Funny Card Recipe

This cute digi was printed on Georgia Pacific 110 lb Georgia Pacific paper.  I broke out the Copic markers and colored a kind of purple so it looked like wine.  I then used a light BG to color the bottle and also put a layer of that over the purple.  I used I would use to color animals brown to color the corks.  I placed the colored images on my Brother Scan n Cut and wa la - my images were cut out.  I added some sparkle to the wine bottle along with some white highlights.  I just am no good at the white highlights.  I should have pulled out a real wine bottle and seen where those white lines show.  The sentiment is my favorite as I am on WW (they don't call it Weight Watchers anymore) and I often time ask - how many points in that?

I popped up the images on some fun printed card stock and I added some glittery enamel dots for interest.

Lots of Layers Challenge at Creative Knockouts

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge is Lots of Layers.  Our wonderful sponsor is LeAnn's World 101 and if you enter you have the chance to win 1 free image.

I used the Sher and Mike to create my card.

Layers Card Recipe

This cute digi was printed on Georgia Pacific 110 lb Georgia Pacific paper.  I broke out the Copic markers and worked on my shading.  These images are kind of small, but they were fun to color.  I never know where to color on the eyes so I just didn't.  I used my wonky rectangle dies from My Favorite Things to cut out the images and the layer behind the image layer.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle and I popped that up on a layer cut out with the smallest My Favorite Things wonky rectangle die.

Row 5 of My Quilt Made Using My Cricut Maker

Here is the video for row 5 of the quilt I am making with fabric cut using my Cricut Maker.  I'm loving the bright colors and all the half square triangle patterns the quilt uses.  The fabric I'm using is from Moda, Me and My Sister.

Here are the blocks that make up row 5.

I hope you will join along in the fun.  You really don't have to have a maker - just cut your own half square triangles and join in on the fun.  The finished blocks are 9 1/2 inches.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day, say something nice to someone and eat some chocolate.
