I used image Flamingo Watermelon to create my card.

Anything Goes Card Recipe

This image just yelled Copics to me.  This image is so cute and it was fun to use lots of happy colors.  As I love paint splatter I flicked some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink on the card which just made the image.  I added some layers in the back and some of those acrylic bubble looking things.  Now I did forget something - can anyone figure out what it is?  I just saw it!

It's the 1st Saturday of the month and that means it is time for another challenge at the Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge Blog.  The theme for this challenge is Dad/Special Guy Cards 4 Kids or Anything Goes 4 Kids.  This challenge no longer has sponsors so you will be participating for pride not prize.

Send a Smile 4 Kids charity is dedicated to collecting and distributing handmade cards to children who are inpatient at Children's Hospitals.  Please send us your handmade kids' cards for holidays, birthdays, and everyday cheer.  Help us put a smile on our kids' faces.

Dad/Special Guy Cards 4 Kids Card Recipe

I was perusing Etsy to get an idea for this month's card and I found the sentiment - Dad - You're One in a Minion.  I knew that was the sentiment I wanted to use.  It just so happened I had some Minions that I'd cut out with my Cricut year ago.  I put them together and put them in a container for later projects.  Guess what - this is just the later project I had in mind.  I typed the sentiment in Word and printed it in 3 different fonts.  I cut out the one I like the best and then took Momento Paris Dusk ink and used it to ink around the edges.  I found a blue background with polka dots that I liked.  And I found another blue piece of card stock in my left over bin to put behind the sentiment.  I inked around all the edges with the Momento Ink.  I popped up the Minion and the sentiment and added 3 yellow enamel dots.  Then I put it on a card base.  Anything with googly eyes and Minions is adorable.

Flower Power Challenge at Creative Knockouts Challenge

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is Flower Power.  Our sponsor is SheepSkiDesigns and if you enter you have the chance to win 3 images from the shop.

I used image Tulips - image no 216 to create my card.

Flower Power Card Recipe

SheepSkiDesigns is one of my favorites because they have so many beautiful flower images.  I cannot get enough of the flower images.  I was inspired by the sample card for this particular tulip design.  Go to their site and you will see what I am talking about.  I LOVE a black and white card with a pop of color.  I used Tombow markers to color the image.  I printed 2 of the images.  I colored all the flowers and the vase gray on the one for the card.  On the extra image, I colored several flowers red and then fussy cut them.  I popped those up on the same flower on the gray image.  This gives those beautiful red tulips such dimension.  I added 3 crystals in red.  The thanks sentiment came from My Favorite Things.  I inked around the edges of the white cardstock so it blended into the background.  I also colored in light gray around the image to give the image more definition.

Boy Cards 4 Kids at Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge

Boy Cards 4 Kids Card Recipe

I am definitely a flower and cute animal card maker.  I struggle when it comes to cards for boys, so I stuck to the basics for this month's card.  I found some wood grain card stock from My Favorite Things.  I went through my embossing folders and found one that looked like metal.  I don't use embossing folders enough
so it was refreshing to include one in my project.  I used some cool silver paper from Paper Cuts to get that iridescent look.  I stamped Happy Birthday in black on some Kraft card stock and cut out the banner using a die cut from My Favorite Things.  I added 3 silver enamel dots to coordinate with the silver embossed piece.

Sparkle and Shine Challenge at Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is Anything Goes.  Our sponsor is Leann's World and if you enter you have the chance to win 2 images from the shop.

I used image Vivian Pre-colored to create my card.

Sparkle and Shine Card Recipe

This little mermaid shouted sparkle to me.  And although you can't really see it in the image, her mermaid tail and sea shells are all aglimmer because I used my clear glitter pen to color them.  I added some iridescent pearls and rhinestones to make this card sparkle even more.  I cut out 3 images and popped up pieces of the images for dimension.

Anything Goes Challenge at Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is Anything Goes.  Our sponsor is Pretty Cute Stamps and if you enter you have the chance to win 4 images from the shop.

I used dies from my stash to create my card.

Anything Goes Card Recipe

I have had these dies in my collection for quite some time now and this seemed like the perfect time to use them.  In hind sight I'm not sure green in the background was the right choice, but at the time it seems to work.  I added a sentiment that came from one of those itsy bitsy Stampendous sets that I LOVE!  I like the puffy lettering - it reminds me of a marshmallow.  To top it off I added the tiny clear dots.  The light just bounces right off of them.

Celebrations Challenge on Creative Knockouts

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is Celebrations.  Our sponsor is Pattie's Creations and if you enter you have the chance to win 4 images from the shop.

I used digi stamp Party Hat Trio to create my card.

Celebrations Card Recipe

I was definitely in the mood for my favorite color red.  I printed the above image twice.  I cut out the hats on the second print to pop them up.  I colored the hats with a red marker leaving a little white to give them dimension.  I found some fuzzy balls and used those for the top of the hats.  I used my Tim Holtz splatter brush and Tim Holtz Red Berries Oxide Ink to create the splatter.  I matted the card front on red card stock and there you have it.  The Happy Birthday sentiment was typed in Word and printed out with the hats.
