Popping Up Poppies

Dear Blog,

I won this embossing folder at a card class last Saturday and was determined to use it.  It is not my best work, but it's okay.

I like the colors.  That embossing folder was hard on my cardstock.  :-)

  1. Did it kinda go through your cardstock in places? I've had that happen and I read somewhere that if you lightly mist the back of your cardstock before you run it through really detailed embossing folders that will help. I guess it makes it emboss more easily, so the folder or design doesn't tear through your cardstock. I haven't tried it yet, though. So maybe you want to be the guinea pig for this tip? :) I'll follow you now so I can check back and see how it works, if you try it out, I mean. Deeyll(from WOYWW)

    1. I will definitely have to try that because that is exactly what happened.

  2. What a gorgeous embossing folder and how lucky are you to have it? I love the card you have made using it.
I occasionally get the card torn at places with embossing folders. I use a Big Shot and if this happens I sometimes use the next shim down on the pad and then place chipboard as a shim but not quite so thick as the shim. The tip above sounds good so I may just try that next time. Or else use slightly thinner cardstock.
Stick at it, you will find your own way. That is what crafting is about yes?
