Graduation Cards - In Color

I've been making graduation cards recently.   It is the season for graduations.  So I decided to personalize graduation cards.  How do I do this?  By finding out the name of the school they are graduating from and finding out their school colors.

Here are two cards I made that way:

I made these cards for a guy or a gal.  I hope they enjoy the card that is in their school colors.

Here are the products I used to make the cards:

Maybe you can create some graduation cards using the official school colors of your graduate.

Thank you for stopping by the blog.  Have a great day and be inspired.

Be True to the Red, White and Blue

Dee has been busy in her craft room even though her air conditioning was out.  Now that is true dedication to the craft.  Fortunately she now has a new air conditioner.

Here is the beautiful card she made despite the heat!

Still Celebrating the Red, White and Blue

I'm still making Red, White and Blue projects for this week's blog theme.

I took strips of cardstock and embossed them with a We R Memory Keepers star embossing folder.  I did some sewing, cutting and stamping to create some more red, white and blue cards.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in tomorrow for some more red, white and blue.

Have a great day and where ever you are - be there.

WOYWW 312 - Did Some Rearranging and Happy 6th Anniversary

I have been busy in my craft room on this long weekend doing some stash clean up and moving some things around.  As always I don't have enough table top space so I was trying to come up with a way to gain some more.  I was somewhat successful, but I do feel like I'm a little more organized.

I am sharing my desk on Julia's Giant Desk Hop.  And she is celebrating 6 years of hosting this awesome weekly party.  Congrats Julia.

This is my room before I helped some friends make baby shower invitations.

I didn't do lots of rearranging.  Mostly moving some boxes from one place to another.  My printer from one shelf to another.  My TV from one shelf to another.  The TV move made the room feel bigger somehow.

Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by.  I'm off to go snoop around other peep's desks.  Have a great day and be inspired.

It's Red, White and Blue Week on the Blog

And the first thing I am going to do is push the meaning of that theme to the limit.  :-)

In my mind, red, white and blue are the patriotic colors of the United States of America.  And I am making 'Any Hero' cards this week in honor of Memorial Day.  And even those this card isn't actually using the colors red, white and blue - it does honor those who are serving the red, white and blue.

Here is another card that will be going to Operation Write Home.

I used this stamp from Stampers Best and some Tombow watercolor markers to color Ciara.  The photo frame is from Stampin Up.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  This card is going to one of our heroes serving away from home.  For more information go to OWH.

And here is a video I did on the water color technique I used to make yesterday's Memorial Day Card:

Happy Memorial Day - A Time to Remember and Thank Those Who Have Served The United States of America

Today is Memorial Day.  Let's take a moment to remember our heroes.  Those who have served their country and us in order to protect our freedom.  Freedom is not free.

Here is a card that I made using a watercolor technique.  This will be an Any Hero card for Operation Write Home.

Using Spectrum Aqua markers, Crafter's Companion watercolor paper, and a Paper Smooches sentiment, I created this thank you card for one of our heroes.

Thank you to those brave men and women who have served our country.

OWH Finishing Strong Bloghop

2015 is a little different for OWH.  Operation Write Home is nearing the finish line of their mission.  All cards must be received by August 1, 2015.  Spread the news.  If you have cards you've been meaning to send in - now is the time.  Any cards received after that date will be returned at the expense of the sender.  So get your cards together and make your final donation.  Help Operation Write Home finish strong.

Here is my card for the bloghop.  I used OWH sketch ???.  You can find the sketch I used along with many other sketches on the sketch page of the OWH website.

And my card:

The stamp is by North Woods and I used colored pencils to color the tulips.

And I did one more using sketch 152:

And my card:

I used the same stamp, I just colored the flowers with Tombow markers.  The sentiment is done with white embossing powder.

It's 5 o'clock Somewhere

Dee pulled out some coasters she'd purchased and got to work creating.

Here is the result:

Recipe for Coasters:
Coasters stamp and ink set from Hero Arts. The main image is Art Impressions "Celeste" stamp that was masked off to use only part of it and Sentiment is from an Archivers kit.

These Coaster's are such a super easy project that took only minutes to make. They would make a great gift as a set with a little something to drink and/or a set of personalized etched Wine glasses.

Weekend of Fun and Food

I spent this weekend with fellow crafty peeps at a bed and breakfast in Glasgow KY.  If you want an awesome place to stay, awesome food and wonderful owners - check out The Narrow Way Bed and Breakfast.   Karen and Roger have created an oasis.

While there, Diane created this adorable card.  She actually created four of them.

The cat stamp is from Inky Antics (Cute Cat Set #3)  The dogs are from Inky Antics, too and are cut out and popped up on the card.  When I saw it I told her I wasn't feeling well and coughed.  I still didn't get the card.  She wouldn't let me buy it either!  And she's my BFF - what the heck?

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in tomorrow for some coasters Dee made.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day.  Some mother's have furry children and some have human children.  Some of us are lucky enough to still have our mothers on Earth.  Some of us know she's watching over us from beyond.  Happy Mother's Day to all.

Here are the cards I made for my Mom and my Mom-in-law.

I am so happy with the black and white image with a touch of color.  I can use this a lot.  It is sophisticated and comes together quickly.

I hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day.  Tune in tomorrow for some great cards by Sherry.  This week's theme is anything goes.

White with a Spash of Color - My Favorite Take on the Concept

I've been playing with the technique of white with a splash of color all week long.  I decided  I would take it a step further.

It isn't totally white, but there is a lot of white.

Here is what I did:

I just stamped an image in black with Archival Ink.  I took Tombow markers and colored one of the flowers to make it pop.  Then I just added a black background and adhered it to a card.  It was simple, but it looks really cool in my opinion.

Thank you for stopping by the blog.  Tune in next week for a new theme.
