Wings and Things Challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is Wings and Things.  Our sponsor is The Artsy Stamper and if you enter you have the chance to win 1 image set from the shop.

I used digi stamp Beverly's Rose to create my card.

Wings and Things Card Recipe

This beautiful rosebud was printed on my Kodak printer as were the sentiment and the butterfly.  I liked the idea of the black and white with a pop of color so I colored the rosebud with Copic Markers and just put a little splatter of green on the white card stock.  You can barely see it.  I added these cool sparkly black enamel dots from Doodlebug and matted the card front in red.  I wanted to keep it simple.

Anything Goes Challenge at Jan's Digi Stamps

It is the third Monday of the month and that means another challenge on Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges Blog.  Always anything goes means lot of fun and creativity.  Two lucky winners will be awarded a $10 Gift Code to the on-line store.  One winner will be from only those entries that used a Jan's Digi Stamp image and the second from all other entries.

Finding an image for my card was easy because of the wonderful selection at the Jan's Digi Stamps on-line store.

I just love woodgrain and this rolling pin and bowls were perfect for a woodgrain background.  I took the images from the Flour Child set along with a sentiment from the same set.  I sized the bowl into a larger bowl and a smaller bowl.  I cut out the sentiment and put it on top of the rolling pin and you might not be able to see it, but I added a little woodgrain to the rolling pin with a colored pencil.  The woodgrain background is from Hobby Lobby and can be found with multiple colored woodgrain card stock.  I used my Brother Scan n Cut to cut out the images.  I inked the edges of the card stock and the rolling pin.  And in my stash I found wood dots which finished this card perfectly.

I hope you take the time to go look at Jan's Digi Stamps, she's got some great images and the pre colored images are great if you are pressed for time, but want to give someone a hand made card.  They are also great for scrapbooking projects.  Hmmm....  That gives me an idea.

Here is an affiliate link to the Brother Scan n Cut I used.  A little for me, but cost nothing for you.  :-)

For the Girls Challenge at Creative Knockouts Challenge

It is Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week's theme challenge is for the girls.  Our sponsor is Twinkle Lane Designs and if you enter you have the chance to win 4 images from the shop.

I used digi stamp Calla Lilies to create my card.

For the Girls Card Recipe

Twinkle Lane Designs has the prettiest flower digis.  I picked the calla lilies which is one of my favorite flowers and colored it with some Copic Markers.  I outlined the image in B01 since I wanted the white flowers to pop.  The sentiment also comes with this image.  I die cut the flowers and the sentiment and layered in black.

Anything Goes Challenge on Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges

It is the beginning of the month and that means another challenge on Jan's Digi Stamp Challenges Blog.

I started with the pot of pansies from the SpringTime set along with a sentiment from Floral Flourish.  I printed the flowers using Microsoft Word.  I used my Brother Scan n Cut to cut out the image.  I found this beautiful wood grain paper at Hobby Lobby.  I am a sucker for wood grain no doubt.  I cut out the most interesting part of the paper for the background of this card.  The banner dies are from an old set from My Favorite Things.  Those stitched banner dies never go out of style, do they.  The background banner was cut out of Kraft card stock.  The front piece was cut out after i printed the sentiment on white card stock.  Then I inked it with Tim Holtz Oxide Ink to kind of coordinate with the purple in the pansies.  The glitter enamel dots are just a bonus.  I layered the card front in the Kraft card stock as well.

I hope you take the time to go look at Jan's Digi Stamps, she's got some great images and the pre colored images are great if you are pressed for time, but want to give someone a hand made card.  They are also great for scrapbooking projects.  Hmmm....  That gives me an idea.

Cards 4 Moms at Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge

It's the 1st Saturday of the month and that means it is time for another challenge at the Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge Blog.  The theme for this challenge is Cards 4 Moms or Anything Goes 4 Kids.  This challenge no longer has sponsors so you will be participating for pride not prize.

Send a Smile 4 Kids charity is dedicated to collecting and distributing handmade cards to children who are inpatient at Children's Hospitals.  Please send us your handmade kids' cards for holidays, birthdays, and everyday cheer.  Help us put a smile on our kids' faces.

Cards 4 Mom Card Recipe

This year's card started with a left over background from Stamp Joy 2021.  Taylored Expressions hosted a day long make and take called Stamp Joy.  It was a virtual event that was presented on Facebook Live.  We made 9 cards I believe and this particular background was actually used as a stencil for one of the cards.  Pretty cool right.  I got 2 backgrounds for the price of 1.  I used an old Hero Arts stamp and die set for the Happy Mother's Day.  The die cut is the word happy and I popped that up on fun foam.  Mother's Day is the stamped part of the set and I cut that out with a small banner die from My Favorite Things.  I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Oxide Ink so it would blend in with the background.  The dots are from Nuvo.  You will be seeing some of the techniques that I learned from Stamp Joy on some future cards.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Consider entering our challenge and donating your hand made cards to our great charity.

You can find the Make a Wish die here:  https://stamplorations.com/search?q=make%20a%20wish
Stamplorations is a one woman owned business and she is a pleasure to work with.  She also makes beautiful stamps, dies and stencils.

Here are some affiliate links to the products I used.  It doesn't cost you a thing, but I get a small commission which helps me purchase my crafting supplies.
