WOYWW - 191

Dear Blog,

Here it is - Wednesday already.  My work desk has changed, but not significantly.  I did some scrap wrangling (cutting scraps to card making size supplies and discarding the rest).  I cleaned up the remnants of some previous projects to make room to make my lighthouse card.  And I have some ideas swimming around in my head for other cards.  Finished week 3 of my 'Project Life' undertaking - so all in all a productive week.
If you want to see other desks around the world - head on over to Julia's blog - The Stamping Ground
and see what the fuss is all about.  You'll get hooked.  ;-)

Here is what mine looks like.

And here is a close up of my Lighthouse card:

Have fun blog hoppng.

Lighthouse Card

Dear Blog,

I found this great lighthouse stamp at Hobby Lobby on Saturday.  This is my first attempt at using it.  I couldn't come up with an appropriate sentiment so I just didn't add one.  I also want to do a night background with this stamp and then have the light shining from the lighthouse into the darkness.

Here it is:

Supplies:
Spellbinders dies
Stampendous 'Beacon of Light Stamp'
Stampin up ink:  Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point
What ever brown ink was still on the sponge of one of my ink daubers
Versamark Ink
Black embossing powder

Project Life Week 3

Dear Blog,

I've finished my layout for week 3 of my 'Project Life' pursuit.  It is only a 12 X 12 sheet because it was not as picturesque a week as the 2 previous weeks.

Here are some pictures:

This is the drawing my niece Chloe made for me during Church
This is a picture of Chloe to go with the drawing
This is the full page on my messy project life desk
These are samples of some of the cards my Mom and I made in our card class
And I realized as I pulled these pictures in - I didn't do a spread on Week 2.  I will have to do that.

WOYWW - 190

Dear Blog,

Wednesday has snuck up once again.  If you want to know what all the fuss is about, hop on over to Julia's Blog  Stamping Ground and you can see crafter's work desks from around the world.

In my little corner of the world, my desk has only gotten more cluttered.  I guess that is a good sign.  I purchased some stamps from a friend who sells Stampin Up, but is getting rid of some of her older stamps.  I got Pick a Petal - I'm very excited.  I'm still working on my Project Life.  I've printed out most of the pictures - now I am just putting together the page with the journaling.

My kitty is in what seems to be everyone's favorite seat in the crafting area.  :-)

Popping Up Poppies

Dear Blog,

I won this embossing folder at a card class last Saturday and was determined to use it.  It is not my best work, but it's okay.

I like the colors.  That embossing folder was hard on my cardstock.  :-)

Project Life - Week 1

Dear Blog,

I've finished my first Project Life Layout for week1.  I actually started Christmas week since I knew I would have plenty to journal about and pictures to use.

Here is Page 1 (sorry for the poor photography - taking pictures of plastic in the basement is hard)
The top picture was coming out of the pocket, but I didn't realize that until I was editing the picture.  I think you get the idea though.
Here is page 2:

This is my favorite picture from Christmas.  We have a second year tradition of posing with everyone in front of the tree.  I just love this picture.
Here is just a little detail.  I am not getting really fancy as I am just starting out.  I'm using Project Life as a synopsis of the events of the year.  I still plan on scrapbooking what we do in more detail.  This will be like the table of contents.  :-)

I'm working on some cards - and I still have week 2.  And oh crap!  Week 3.

WOYWW - 188

WOYWW - 188

I have been cluttering up my work desk somewhat, but still not to the extent I would like.  I've got a little cold going on (excuses - I know) and haven't felt like creating. :-(  But I have been doing a lot of blog hopping and I've gotten some great ideas.  As soon as I'm feeling better, I will have all kinds of things to try.

If you want to see what all this is about and see other workdesks, hop on over to The Stamping Ground and see what Julia started.

Happy Blogging.

Dear Blog,

I am well on my way to completing my first week of Project Life.  I am going to call it April's Project Hodge Podge because I'm not following the Project Life exactly.  I am using the We are Memory Keepers 4X6 pocket pages instead of the true Project Life pages.  I saw the cool smaller pages (6 X 12 pocket pages) used in the project life albums thought those would be nice for extra pictures - for those busy weeks.

I also worked on a card using my Unity Stamp of the Week.  I had a little issue with my red Copic marker wanting to bleed.  Don't know exactly what was up with that.

I will be posting my first project hodge podge pages as soon as I add some journaling.

WOYWW - 187
Dear blog,

I actually took a picture of my desk before I left on vacation.  When I tried to post the picture to my blog with my iPad - I gave up.  I just got back into town late last night.  So here it is - LATE - but better late than never - right?

I have cleaned up my work desk and prepared it for doing my scrapbook pages of the holidays. And that is where it stopped.  I plan on doing project life this year, too, starting with Christmas week.  I am already one week behind.  I look forward to my desk being much messier.

To see other's desks hop on over to WOYWW.

Dear Blog,

In looking at all the Blogs for WOYWW I found this great idea.  Choose a word for the year that you will strive to exemplify.  I thought about it and my word for this year is gratitude.  I have so much to be thankful for and I sometimes forget that because I get so wrapped up in 'life'.

I also found in my quest to learn more about this word for a year I found this web site that tells you how to request a button for your blog that has your 2013 word.  It looks like this:

Her website is located here:
Free One Word Button

I hope that others will follow along - if you want the whole scoop go here and find out what all the fuss is about One Word 365
