Taking to the Air.........

This week we are celebrating modes of transportation and in that vain - I've focused on getting from point A to point B via the big blue sky.

I used an old favorite Lawn Fawn stamp set for this first project.  I used Versamark ink to stamp the image and then embossed it in black embossing powder.  I used a Tim Holtz distress marker in the color pumice stone to highlight the paper airplane.  Then I took some Tim Holtz distress ink in Shaded Lilac and inked up the background of the image.  I rounded the corners with the We R Memory Keepers corner chomper.  The background is some cool hombre paper from Memory Makers that I found at Target.  I think I'm going to have to get some more.  I can see lots of potential for that paper.  I've used it on several projects today.

The tools I used to make this card.

The ombre paper from Making Memories:

The We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper

The final product.  I forgot to mention I used water color paper and then after inking with Distress Ink, I sprayed some water for the beading effect.

You can see the irridescant enamel dots that I found at Target, too, just tops off the card.

You can travel by hot air balloon, too.  This stamp is by Unity.  I used a background I made using another technique for this balloon.  You can find the technique here:  Bokeh Made Easy

I used Versamark ink to ink up the balloon stamp and then embossed in some blue glitter embossing powder that I had lying around.  I think it is left over from some Christmas cards I made a couple years back.  I popped up the balloon on foam tape and used some more of that hombre paper from Memory Makers to layer the image.

I hope you've enjoyed todays projects.  I really like expanding my horizons.  I lean towards more girly cards and this is a chance for me to get out of  my comfort zone.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.  Make it, live it and share it.

Wild Things! You make my heart sing! You make Everything!

Wild thing, I think I LOVE you!  I used to sing that to my youngest daughter in the bathtub.  She LOVED it.  So now everytime I think of wild things, I think of my little girl taking a bath and laughing when I sang to her.  And I think of the theme on the blog this week!

Here is a WILD creation for your enjoyment.  And Happy Birthday to my oldest daughter Brittni.  This is her card and she's a wild thing, too.  :-):

This is a box card so it folds flat and fits in an envelope.

Here is a 'wild'flower card.  I used Tombow markers and water to paint the Northwoods Stamp.  I stamped it in versamark ink and added black mixed with white embossing powder.

Stay tuned tomorrow for more wild and crazy cards.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  Have a great day and be inspired.

Sparkle and Shine Comes to a Close

Yep - this is the last day to use glitter on my projects.  For the blog theme anyway.

This Christmas box card from SVGCuts rocks!  I used Glitter Spray on the red poinsettias although it's hard to see in the picture.

Even the back of the box card is pretty:

I went to a watercolor class at SBN Memories on Thursday.  Here is one of the cards we created:

And here is the other card we watercolored:

Check out SBN Memories for your paper crafting needs.

Tune in next week for a new theme - Wild Things.  There are lots of fun projects to share.

Thanks for stopping by the blog.  Have a great weekend and be inspired.

See Sherry Shine

This week's theme is 'All That Glitters' and Sherry stepped up to the challenge with multiple projects that sparkle and shine.  I know you will all be inspired by these fun bits of glittery goodness.

Let's skip the small talk and get to the good stuff:

I know it seems early, but we all need to be thinking about the holidays.  Sherry created this cute Santa gift card holder just for the holidays.

This cute little creatures shines with a pastel background and some sparkly rhinestones.

And who can get enough of the Grinch!  Not me.

The monkey is just adorable.

I hope you've drawn some inspiration from all of Sherry's hard work.  I am feeling inspired to start some Christmas cards!

Stay tuned tomorrow for the wrap up of the week of shiny goodies.

WOYWW 276 - I'm Seeing Stars! No, It's Glitter!

It is another Wednesday and that means it's time to take a picture of my desk - no matter what it looks like!  And then head over to The Stamping Ground where Julia hosts the world's largest desk hop every week.

This week the theme on my blog is 'All that Glitters'.  So needless to say - I've got glitter everywhere!  Let's just say I sparkle.  LOL

Here is what my desk looks like.  And you probably won't see the glitter because in my infinite wisdom (not) I did not take into account how hard it would be to get glitter to show up in a picture.  Oh well - you win some and you lose some.  :-)

You might spy some new box cards on my desk.  :-)

Stay tuned tomorrow for the Sherry Show.  She has multiple cards showing off her sparkle.

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a great day and be inspired.

I hope this inspires you to get out your glue and glitter up some fun images.

Stay tuned tomorrow for a Christmas gift card hold that sparkles from design team member Sherry.  That and many more projects she's created using this week's theme.

All That Glitters Is Not Gold

But that's okay in the crafting world.  We like glitter that is pink and red and blue and even white!  I have some crafty friends who do not consider a project complete unless there is some glitter on it.  LOL

I have shyed away from glitter over the years because I like to make cards to donate to OWH.  But since they do not need as many cards due to the troops coming home (which is a good thing), I've expanded my outlook on donating cards.  There are several charities who accept hand made cards especially for children.  I will be including a link to one when I finally send them the cards I've made.  :-)

When I wrote this down as this week's theme - I didn't think it all the way through.  It is fairly difficult to get glitter to 'show up' without using photoshop in a picture.  Oh well - you will have to use your imagination.  :-)

The little white flecks in his fur is glitter - it is - I swear!  This little guy comes from the Close to My Heart stamp set called Happy Forever (D1423) along with the sentiment.  I stamped is using Stamping Up Chocolate Chip ink.  The butterflies were colored using Tombow markers and they glitter because of a glitter pen.  The clouds were created using two cloud punches by Fiskars.  And the hedgehog fuzz is glittery flocking.

If you would like to win a stamp set from Unity link up your glittery project here:

Paint Splatter Makes Great Cards

Several weeks ago the theme on the blog was paint splatter.  I made some cards that I am very happy with and wanted to share how I made these cards.

All you need is some paper, a stencil and some ink to create these cards yourself.

Here is the video if you would like a play by play.  :-)

I hope you are able to get some ideas from these cards.  I am slowly letting go of these cards and sharing them with my friends.  I tend to hoard my favorite creations.  LOL

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  Stay tuned tomorrow for some glitter as this week's theme is All Things That Glitter.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Wrapping Up Life's a Beach

This week has gone by quickly.  I hope you've enjoyed our celebration of warm weather, the beach, sand and sea creatures.  Put your flip flops on - we're going to the beach.

Here is the last of the sandy projects.  I started with the Silhouette Design 62275 and picked out the images I wanted to use.  This week's theme is my title:

Here is the left hand side:

Here is the right hand side:

Here is a close up of some of the elements:

I sprayed Glitter Spray on the sun.  You cannot really tell from the pictures, but it is sparkly.

Fun Stampers Journey Project - 3 Layer Card

I recently joined the Fun Stampers Journey Company as a coach.  I am very impressed with product line this company has to offer along with the quality of the products.

I want to share several cards that I made using a tried and true technique.  This is a great demonstration of the products FSJ has to offer.

I made these cards for an RAK.

Here is the video showing the technique I used to make these cards:

Keep in mind, you don't have to use these products to get the same effect.  Use the stamps, ink and paper that you have one hand.

If you're interested in purchasing any of the Fun Stampers Journey products, you can shop here:
