Still CASEing Darlene - She Does Such Great Work and National PTSD Awareness Day

Today's card is an attempt to copy Darlene's card that you can see here:  Masked Silhouette

Fortunately I had the stamp.  I did use different colors of Tim Holtz Distress Ink, but only because I didn't have the colors she used.  They are now on my list of things to buy.  :-)  I used Dusty Concord, Broken China and Peeled Paint.  I added sewing on the border and punched the corners with a Corner Chomper - the stub corner.

Find someone to stalk and get to making those cards.  If you find you run out of people to send them to - send them to OWH where they will be sent to our troops serving away from home.  They use these cards to keep in touch with their families.

Also I wanted to let you know it is National PTSD Awareness Day.  Not only does OWH accept blank cards, they also send Anyhero mail to our troops to offer thanks and encouragement.  These letters and cards let our troops know that someone does appreciate the sacrifices they are making for us.  You can find out more about PTSD and Anyhero letters on Sandy's Blog.

Have a great day and be inspired.

WOYWW 213 - Still a Mess!

Well it is Wednesday once again.  I haven't had a blog post since Friday I think.  I was on such a roll!  But here is my chance to get on another roll......  If you would like to see some awesome desks from around the world go to The Stamping Ground.

I have been busy making my 'art' into cards.  And I've done some scrapbooking, too.

And there was another stand off in the craft room.  LOL

Here is the desk:

And here is the pegboard.  Not much progress....

It is storming here, but if I have internet I will be visiting all the desks I can later.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Happy Father's Day - Just a Few Days Late

Fortunately my card to my Dad wasn't late - it was right on time.  I made one for my Dad and one for my husband's Dad.

I used some Tim Holtz distress Ink (Walnut Stain) to ink the background.  I had a brick stamp and multiple other distress type stamps.  The clocks are from Unity Stamps.  The sentiment of from Hero Arts - one of their sentiments sets.  I used my sewing machine to do the zig zag stitch.

Here are the two cards.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Lots of Patterns

I used a stamp from Sweet and Sassy Stamps and Copic markers to color the flower.  I used my Silhouette to cut the frame around the Easter Lilly stamp.  I followed the 6 x 6 paper pad tutorial at Operation Write Home to come up with the layout of the background.  And I used my Brother sewing machine to stitch the pieces of pattern cardstock to the dark green cardstock from Paper Studio.  All this was placed on a kraft card base.  I can't decide if I'm going to add a sentiment or leave it up to the hero that chooses this card.

I will be sending this card along with most of my other cards to OWH.  From there these cards will be distributed to our heroes serving in the military who have requested them.  They can use these cards to keep in touch with their loved ones.  If you're interested in donating hand made cards to the cause - go to the website and check it out.

Have a great day and be inspired.

WOYWW 211 - CASEing

It is once again Wednesday when we share our work spaces.  Time sure flies.  If you would like to see more work desks from around the world, go here:  Stamping Ground.  In the meantime, here is my work desk.

I found someone new to stalk.  You will see some of my CASEing on the desk.

My DH was kind enough to install this pegboard on Father's Day.  I had all that empty space and I think this will be very helpful for organizing.

Well off to see everyone's work desks.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Paper Wizard and a Glue Pen

I used some Disney paper - see Mickey peeking through the stripes?  What I didn't realize was that I had 2 pieces of 12 X 12 coordinating paper.  I found the piece with Mickey peeking out after I'd already cut up the coordinating piece of paper.  The beauty of paper crafting.

The black background is Authentique - one of my faves.

The Tower of Terror is my favorite ride in the Disney parks.  I love the drop.  The first time Emily (who is 18 now and in the picture with her Dad and me) stood in line for this ride she was fine until they did the 'set up'.  You know - all Disney rides have the 'set up'.  They told the story of the family that disappeared in the hotel - yada yada yada.  It was at that point she decided she did not want to go on this ride.  She cried and repeated over and over - I don't want to ride; I don't want to ride.  I'm sure the people who were sitting in the car with us were judging us for making her ride.  What they didn't know was that she had done that on other rides, but after she rode she asked to ride again.  Fear of the unknown.  Fortunately, she rode the Tower of Terror and immediately wanted to ride again.  I think the first time she rode was when she was 7.

Here Emily tried on some of the cool headbands.

The last 2 shots are close ups of the awesome Paper Wizard die cuts.  I found them at Archivers.  What I did not realize is that are in pieces.  They are cut out, but they are not put together.  That proved to be quite a challenge.  A friend of mine bought the one that looks like Cinderella's Castle - I can't even image putting that one together.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Tulips and a Pair of Scissors

I found the tulip stamp at Archivers - it's a wood mount stamp.I am a sucker for flowers.  I used Copic markers to colors the flowers.  I cut out the flowers around the frame.  I used Teresa Collins Spring Fling 6 X 6 paper pack for the background pattern paper.  I also used the 6 x 6 tutorial on the Operation Write Home Blog.  I didn't put a sentiment.  I think it can be used for many purposes.

This card will be going to OWH where it will be sent to deployed military personnel so they can send hand written notes to their friends and family.  If you would like to participate in this worthy cause - go to the website and check it out.  It will make you feel good.  :-)

Have a great day and be inspired.

Shiver Me Timbers

I'm still working on Disney and I probably will be for quite some time.  Here I used the standard Disney colors - red, yellow and black.  I also used Bazzill dotted swiss paper in yellow.  I used Kiwi Lane templates to create these pages.  I found the Pirate stickers at Archivers.

It's funny - the Pirates of the Caribbean Ride used to be desserted until the movies came out.  :-)

The photographer at Hollywood Studios had my husband take off his hat so it looks like he has on the big Mickey Sourcerer's hat.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Sweet and Sassy and Polka Dots

This beautiful tulip stamp is from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.  I colored it using Copic markers.  The background paper is from Teresa Collins Sping Fling 6 x 6 paper pack.  I also used the Operation Write Home 6 x 6 Tutorial - sort of.  I am tutorial challenged.  I also used my Brother sewing maching to do the awesome stitching.  I placed the pieces on kraft card stock.

This card will be donated to Operation Write Home so that our deployed military can send notes home to theirfamily and friends.  If you make cards and have run out of reasons or people to make cards - go take a look.  It will make you feel good.  And it gives you an excuse to buy new stuff.  ;-)

Have a great day and be inspired.

Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom

Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom is my go to spot for dinner when we are there.  I love the homestyle service and Chip and Dale used to walk about the restaurant.  Even though Chip and Dale are no longer there - I still enjoy the food there.  However, my family always questions my motive for going there.  And I must always insist that we eat there.  And every time, as we are leaving, I hear the words - that was good.  Geesh!

So, since the Liberty Tree Tavern suggests patriotism - I used patriotic colors to create my pages.  I cut out the stars using my Gypsy and my Cricut.  Yes - I still use my Cricut.  I wouldn't give it up.  I also use my Cameo - I think they both are great machines.  I also used the Kiwi Lane templates to create my pages.  The paper is Authentique which is one of my favorite paper companies.  I love how their papers coordinate.

The boat is the boat that takes you to the island in Magic Kingdom.  I can't remember the name of the island - I'm thinking it's Tom Sawyer - but I wouldn't swear to that.  I just thought the paddle wheel boat looked pretty with the lights and the reflection of the lights in the water.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Krafty Flowers

For this card I used kraft card stock.  I inked up my Rubber Neckers stamp with Versamark white ink.  Then I used Stampin Up markers - Rasberry Ripple and Primrose Petals to color in petals on the flowers.  I used the Summer Starfruit pen to color the centers of the flowers.  I thought the pink paper I used was one of the In Colors 2012-2014, but I'm not so sure it is.  The sentiment is from Paper Studios - it is a set that has a bunch of words - it's so cool.  I used button brads from Hobby Lobby to secure the sentiment.

This card is on its way to Operation Write Home where is will be distributed to military personal who are deployed away from home.  They can send these cards home to their loved ones to keep in touch.  If you want to participate in this great endeavor - check it out.  It will make you feel good.

WOYWW 210 - Wagging Tail Happy

Once again it is Wednesday and once again I have pictures of my messy desk.  If you want to see what all the fuss is about visit Julia's Blog where you can see work desks from around the world.  I thought I'd give you a different angle this week.  The other angle was getting a little repetitive.

There is a little stand off going on in the craft room.  I don't know if you see Molly behind the typewriter, but Pumpkin does.

But even though Pumpkin didn't get to nose Molly - her tail is still wagging.  LOL

Have a great day and be inspired.

Red, Yellow, Black and Kiwi Lane

I used multiple companies papers - the only requirement is that they have the Disney colors of red, yellow and black.  I used the templates from Kiwi Lane and created my double page spread.  The Disney title and the mickey stickers are Creative Memories.  I think I've had them for quite some time.  I inked all the edges and frame the pictures.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Thinking of You and the Zig Zag Stitch

I used the 6 X 6 tutorial on the OWH Stars and Stripes Blog and Teresa Collin's Spring Fling 6 x 6 paper pack to create these two cards.  The sentiment if from Stampin Up and was stamped using Momento Rich Cocoa ink.  The die cut is is Stampin Up Framelits Window Frame collection.  I also used my sewing machine by Brother.  I am all about sewing my cards right now.  Did you notice the zig zag stitch?

Although I printed the tutorial pdf available on the blog - I still can't get all my pieces to fit together.  I think I am tutorial challenged.  LOL

If you have some cards you've made, but don't have anyone to share them with - go to Operation Write Home and donate them to our heroes serving in the military.  They can use the cards to keep in touch with their loved ones at home.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Fish Lips

Here is another cute digi (can't remember where I found this guy) that I used Copics to color.  I used an embossing folder on the background - it's the ones with circles - I can't remember the name.  I used a die from Stampin Up to cut out the colored image.  I inked the edges in Stampin Up Pool Party Ink.  The sentiment is from Hampton Arts and is stamped in Hero Arts Pale Tomato Ink.

This little guy will be headed to Operation Write Home a non profit organization that sends cards to our heros who are serving in the military.  They can use the blank hand made cards to send home to their loved ones.  Check it out.  If you have any left over cards that you want to donate - go for it.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Stalking Darlene and Penny Black

I so envy Darlene's ability to create such beautiful cards.  She is participating in a Fun Friday Callaboration and I CASed the card she did for the 4th week.  You can find her card here:
Darlene Design Fun Friday Collabo

Here is my attempt at her card:

I used some of the other stamps from the Penny Black's Every Happiness stamp set as well as the sentiments.  I used Copic markers to color the flowers.  I used Hero Arts Gray Granite to stamp the card base.  I used Versafine Ink and black embossing powder to stamp the focal image.

Get busy stamping.  If you run out of friends and family to send your cards to - send them to Operation Write Home.  OWH is a non profit organization that sends blank hand made cards to our troops so they can send them home to their loved ones.

I got my Penny Black Every Happiness stamp set from Ellen Hutson.

Pretty as a Tulip

This is one of my favorite stamps.  It is a digi from Doodle Pantry.  I am a sucker for flowers.  I colored it with Copic markers.  The card is simple - I just cut a circle out of some dark green card stock and placed it over the colored image.  I put that on kraft cardstock and added a sentiment.

So get busy stamping.  If you run out of people to send your cards to - send them to Operation Write Home.  This non profit organization sends blank hand made cards to our troops so they can send them to their loved ones.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Stalking Michelle Zindorf - I mean CASEing

I just love Michelle Zindorf's work.  She makes the most beautiful cards.  I attempted to CASE one of her cards.  Although mine is not nearly as beautiful as hers - it turned out okay.  My motto is practice makes perfect.

Here is the card Michelle did - Michelle Zindorf.

Here is mine:

For the background patterned paper I used a piece from the My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline 6 X 6 paper pad.  I used a Fiskars punch to create the tag.  I used kraft card stock for the card base.  And the ribbon is a green sheer ribbon.

Have a great day and be inspired.

WOYWW 209 - My Desk is a MESS!

It is once again time for WOYWW.  Time just flies by when you're having fun, doesn't it?

To join in on the fun or just to nose around lots of interesting work areas - go here - Stamping Ground.

Here is my messy work area.  I think I have about a 6" by 6" area of space to do actual work.  The rest is cluttered with my 'treasures'.

I've been busy though.  I went to a crop on Friday and on Sunday and worked on my Disney pages.  And I've been working on cards as well.  You can see the result of my card endevors on my desk.

Happy WOYWW.

Be inspired and have a great day.

Fishy Fishy in the Brook

I made this card for my Dad for his birthday.  I struggle with Masculine cards, but I think this one turned out pretty masculine.  I used the Stampin Up set By the Tide.  I embossed the fish with some sparkly blue - okay sparkly isn't masculine.  I thought I had some flat blue, but I didn't.  I distressed the edges of the kraft cardstock and inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  I tacked it down using brads.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Hampton Arts and was stamped in Momento Rich Cocoa ink.  The background paper is from a 6X6 paper pad by We R Memory Keepers - Anthologie.

Get your stamps out and start stamping.  You can always donate your cards to OWH if you run out of friends and family to send them to.  To find out more go here - Operation Write Home.

Turtley Awesome!

I think this card turned out to be really cute.  I used an OWH stamp set by Stampers Best - Stampers Best.  I colored the turtle using Copic Markers.  I inked the background  and edges in Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress ink.  The pattern paper is from We are Memory Makers and it is from a 6X6 paper pad called Anthologie.  I stamped the sentiment in Hero Arts Moss - I believe.

I 'used' sketch 174 located here - OWH Sketch Challenge 174.  I didn't add all the paper that the sketch called for.  This card has gone off the OWH to be sent to someone's loved one.

Get your stamps out and start stamping.  You can always donate your cards to OWH if you run out of friends and family to send them to.  To find out more go here - Operation Write Home.

A Little Lacy

This is one of my favorites.  I don't like the stamp in black though.  I don't know what color I should have used - maybe Rich Cocoa by Momento.  I used some lace from Stampin Up to add some 'pretty' to the card.  And I am still using that Teresa Collins Spring Fling 6X6 paper pack.  The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp set for Operation Write Home which you can find at your local Hobby Lobby.  All edges were inked in Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Get your stamps out and start stamping.  You can always donate your cards to OWH if you run out of friends and family to send them to.  To find out more go here - Operation Write Home.

Buttons and Bows

Still using the Teresa Collins Spring Fling 6X6 paper pack.  Still using the red on green.  I used a variation of the sketch that I've been using from OWH and you can get them here - Operation Write Home Sketches.

I wish I'd cut the paper with the red flowers on the green background piece of a paper larger so you can see the pattern.  It is very pretty.  I tied a bow on my button to add some interest to the card.  The stamp is a Hero Arts stamp set for OWH that you can find at Hobby Lobby.  I used Momento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the sentiment.  I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Get your stamps out and start stamping.  You can always donate your cards to OWH if you run out of friends and family to send them to.  To find out more go here - Operation Write Home.
