I am just loving the Teresa Collins paper pad - Spring Fling.  It was in the Value Spot of Archivers.  I used the Hero Arts Stamp Set for OWH that I found at Hobby Lobby along with the papers.  I used one of the OWH sketches that you can find here:  OWH Sketches.  I inked the edges in Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink and stamped the sentiment in Momento Tuxedo Black ink.

Get your stamps out and start stamping.  You can always donate your cards to OWH if you run out of friends and family to send them to.  To find out more go here - Operation Write Home.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Thinking of You - OWH Sentiment and Martha Stewart Punch

I used the same paper pack from Archivers that I've used for several of my OWH cards.  It is Spring Fling by Theresa Collins.  I just love these colors.  Paisley is also one of my favorites.  The Sentiment of from Hero Arts  -  OWH  - Hobby Lobby.  I used some mint colored ribbon to finish off the card.  The edges are inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Have a great day and be inspired.

WOYWW 208 - Happy Blogaversary Julia

Well, another Wednesday is here already.  And this is a special Wednesday.  It is the 4th anniversary of Julia Dunnit's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.  To see lots of desks from all over the world and celebrate this awesome anniversary go here:  The Stamping Ground.

I had some excitement this Memorial Day weekend - I found an expedit shelf from Ikea on Craig's List.  This was my first Craig's List experience and it was delightful.  I now have this beautiful shelf in my craft room:

I've decided this shelving unit is for card makers.  Look - I still have empty cubbies - yay!

Micheals has had their cubes on sale and they keep giving me coupons for an extra 25% off my entire purchase including sale items.  I just couldn't resist.  So my wall is complete.  Well, complete for now.

And I still have my kitty helper and I use the term 'helper' very loosely.

And here is my desk.  I worked on cards for OWH this weekend.

And I went to Hobby Lobby last night and they had some Copic markers on clearance for $2.51.  They were in the airbrush case.

Happy blogaversary Julia - thank you for your great WOYWW idea.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Following the Tutorial - Well Kind of

I spent this weekend making cards for OWH.  I used the new stamps that I found by Hero Arts that are for OWH at Hobby Lobby.  I was very excited to find both sets.  I also kind of followed the tutorial on how to use a whole 6 x 6 paper pad to make multiple cards.  Here is one of my cards using a paper pack and I now cannot remember the name of the company who made this paper pad.  I just love these colors.

I used this paper pack for the cards that I will be sharing over the next several days.  I will post the name in another post.  And update this post with the company.

I found the embellishment holding the ribbon at Hobby Lobby, too.  It is Spare Parts.  I inked the edges of the paper in Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Have a great day and be inspired.

Happy Memorial Day USA

I don't like to get all mooshy, but I hope that every one takes a moment out of this day to reflect.  Remember that many men and women have lost their lives so that we can act afool.  They've willingly served their country so that we can choose our religion or choose not to have a religion.  Some have been called to battle even when they did not choose to go so that you and I can freely speak our minds.  There are soldiers in battle today so that you and I can sleep peacefully at night.

For all the faults of our country, we should all remember that this is the greatest country on Earth.  And even though there are days when it seems that it is all falling apart, there are also days when we all come together.  When there is a disaster people pitch in.  When a person seeks freedom - they seek our country.

Let's all be proud to Americans every day.

Have a great day and be inspired.  And God Bless America.

Birthday Balloons and Some Old Fashioned Sewing

I've had my sewing machine for several years now.  I ordered it from HSN as a Today's Special Value.  I just had to have it!  Why I just had to have it - I don't know.  I finally made room for it in my craft room when I moved down to the basement.  It has it's own little corner.  A couple weeks ago I pulled out the instruction manual and added thread.  This machine is AWESOME!  It threads the needle for heaven's sake.  Of course I had to try it out on some paper right away.  Below is the resulting card:

I used a cut file for the balloon cut out from The Cutting Cafe.  They have some really cute cut files that you can pull into the Silhouette software - check them out.  The cardstock in the background is some that I've had for years.  The happy birthday came from a Stampendous set with lots of different words you can use to make phrases.  I used nestability dies to cut out the circle and the scallop circle.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in red to distress the edges.  The sentiment was stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black.

I tried adjusting my stitch length on the sewing machine, but I am going to have to read the manual to find out how - I was not successful at that task.

I can tell you I am definitely going to be sewing more cards.

Have a great day and be inspired.  April

OWH - Memorial Day Blog Hop

Today is the Operation Write Home Memorial Day Blog Hop.  Thanks for joining in and stopping by to see me.

For anyone who is not familiar with Operation Write Home - it is an organization dedicated to keeping our deployed troops in touch with their loved ones.  We card makers send in hand made cards and OWH distributes those cards to troops who have requested them.  This allows our heroes to send notes home to their loved ones.  In order to see all the other bloggers who have joined in this hop and learn more about Operation Write Home - go here - Operation Write Home Blog.

Our blogging task is to pick one of the OWH sketches provided here - OWH Sketches and create a thank you card.  I used sketch #99 to create my card which is located here Operation Write Home Sketch 99.

Here is my card:

Here is the sketch that I followed:

I colored a digi stamp from The Stamping Boutique using Copic markers.  The base of the card is kraft cardstock.  The pattern cardstock in from a 6X6 paper pad by We are Memory Makers.  The butterfly stamp is Papillon Potpourri by Stampin Up stamped using Versamark Sparkle Ink.  The sentiment is stamped in Moment Tuxedo Black ink.

Enjoy the blog hop and have a great Memorial Day Weekend.  Remember our heroes.  And everyone write a note to a hero and send it to Operation Write Home.

Hang in There Ladybug

I colored this cute digi stamp with colored pencils.  Colored pencils are not my favorite, but I keep trying them.

I used OWH sketch number 93.  You can find more sketches here - OWH Sketches.

I used the Stampin Up Cloud embossing folder on cardstock by Authentique for the background layer.   The layer behind the ladybug digi is Authentique as well.  The edges are inked in Tim Holtz Distress Ink Faded Denim ( I think that is the name - it has something to do with blue jeans).

Here is my card:

I cannot for the life of me find where I got this digi.  I also have to confess that when I was taking a picture of the card I noticed the ladybug was on top of the branch.  So I had to do some reworking - lol.   That is why the edges are quite distressed.

If you like to color - consider using digis.  They are definitely cost effective and there are some cute ones out there.

Yep - More Disney

We were at the Magic Kingdom on Father's Day.  They had Emily pose blowing her father a kiss.  It was too cute.

Here is the full layout.

Here is a close up of the Father's Day picture.

I also used Kiwi Lane templates for this page.  I also used my Cricut to cut out the Mickey head to make balloons for the layouts.  You can find Kiwi Lane here - www.kiwilane.com.

Be prepared - I will be posting more Disney layouts.  This album has just gotten started.

WOYWW 207 - Craftermath

It is that time of the week once again where crafters from all over the world post pictures of their work spaces for nosey people (ie:  me) to view.  You can visit Julia here - The Stamping Ground  - if you are nosey, too.

My desk has been heavily used.  I've been working on some cards.  I've used my sewing machine which threads the needle - yay!  And last night I helped a friend of mine make mini flower cards on the Silhouette.

Here is a picture of my work area:

I've had an invasion of cats.  They think I need help when I'm working on projects.

I'll be checking out everyone's desks this evening and all week.  There are so many!

Have a great day and be inspired.  April

So Not a Princess

Here is the second layout for my Disney scrapbook.  I used Tinkerbell paper that I found at Archivers.  Don't ask me why I used Tinkerbell paper for pictures with Cinderella's Castle.  I guess because I always picture Tinkerbell pointing her wand at the turrett's of the castle.  That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

Here is the full layout.

I used Kiwi Lane Templates that you can find here - Kiwi Lane Designs.  Normally I would use pattern paper with the templates, but I decided to use the pattern paper as the background and solid colors for the templates.

Here is the left hand side of the layout.

And here is the right hand side of the layout.

Isn't the Tinkerbell sticker adorable.  It's not even mine.  One of my friends who was at the crop had 2 of them.  How lucky am I?

Disney At Last

I finally started working on my Disney scrapbook pages at a crop last Saturday.  Here is my first 2 page spread.  It is very simple.  I used some Disney paper that I found at Archivers.  It is 2 pieces of the same paper just one side on the left side and the other side on the right side.  Does that make any sense at all?

I got the photo pass and had pictures taken throughout the parks.  That is the only way I get in pictures (do you feel sorry for me yet?).  So this is one where they put a character in with you.  I thought it was kind of cute.  I cute out the letters using my Cricut.  Like I said - it is a very simple page.

Here is the left hand side of the layout:

And here is the right hand side.

That's is for my first Disney layout - there will be more to come.

Stalking Darlene Again

I just love the cards that Darlene at Darlene's Designs creates.  I CASE her cards often.  CASE/Stalk - it's all the same thing really.

Here is the video for the card that I CASEd most recently - Flower Shadow

And here is my version:

I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.  I still have a ways to go on my coloring with alcohol, but I will get there eventually.  I can drink alcohol - does that count?

Check out Darlene's web site.  I will warn you - she will make you want to go shopping.  :-)

Thank Goodness for the Craft Mat

I made the mistake of leaving my cup (you know the one with the lid and the straw) on my desk while I went upstairs for a moment.  When I came back, someone (either Molly or Peanut and I suspect Molly) had knocked over the cup and water was all over my desk!  I had just finished up 2 cards and had pieces and parts everywhere.  Fortunately my craft mat saved me.  All the water went under the craft mat instead of over the top.  My cards were saved.  As a matter of fact, I just lost a couple pieces of paper.  Shew!  So if you don't have a craft mat - get one - it may save all of your hard work.  My desk also got a good cleaning; although, it was just a couple weeks ago since the last one.  A good cleaning never hurt anything.  :-)

Here is one of the cards that was saved from the flood.

I have to get back to my investigation now.  I have paw prints to get and dna testing to do.  Someone needs to pay for the flood crime.  ;-)  Obviously I watch way too many crime shows.

Have a great day and be inspired.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

For Mother's Day I made several cards using my Silhouette.  I saw Julie's video on ReadySetStamp.com.  I'd already purchased the cut from the Silhouette store so I made several of these cards.  I like they way they turned out.  I made them for Mother's Day, but they can be used for multiple occassions.

Here they are:

I hope you have a great day and be inspired.

WOYWW 206 - Time Flies!

My how time flies.  It was just 7 days ago when I put my last WOYWW post up.  If you want to know what this is all about go here:  Julia's Stamping Ground.

Mine is short and sweet this week.  I've started getting my desk messy again.  Yay!  I will let the picture speak for itself.

I'm off to see how many desks I can visit tonight.  And I just have to say - I'm missing my Momento Tuxedo black ink pad.  I cannot find it anywhere.  That's what I get for cleaning up!  If you see - let me know.

Have a great day and be inspired.

WOYWW 205 - The Big Clean Up

It is Wednesday once again and my vacation is over half over.  It is also WOYWW over at Julia's Blog - Stamping Ground.  So, if you want to see some more work desks, just pop on over to her blog.  At last count there were 150.

I have been devoting my vacation time to getting my work area more organized.  This of course involves spending money on organizational 'stuff'.  I received some Jetmax cubes for my birthday (although they are actually from Michaels under the brand Recollections) and I've purchased some additional cubes for my organizing adventure.  I've finished organizing and cleaning up my stamping/card making area.

My scrapping/Project Life area still leaves much to be desired.  That is tomorrow's task:

And here is my new Jetmax set up.  I'm hoping to get a new cube every week.  Although they are 40% off this week and there is a coupon for an additional 15% off sale prices tomorrow.  Will I be able to resist?

Once organized I have to get ready for an all day crop on Saturday.  Happy WOYWW.

Have a great evening and be inspired.

Win an Organizing Book

Well, I was on a roll until Friday (yesterday).  I'd posted on my blog every day for 5 days in a row.  I didn't post yesterday and the streak ended.  But I have the opportunity to provide you with a chance to win a book on organizing your crafting space.  Just go here:  kellyscreativedreams.

It's short, but it's still a post.  Happy National Scrapbook Day by the way.

Have a great day and be inspired.

It's a little fishy......

I bought some stamps for an OWH fund raiser.  I've stamped the images and done some coloring but hadn't put a card together yet.  Since Mr. Mojo decided to stay for another day - I created this card.

The inside of the card - with the pun:

I hope you have a great day and be inspired.

WOYWW 204 - MOJO Found - Still a Month Behind on the Calendar

Well the MOJO is back.  I've been spending time in my craft room every night.  I haven't necessarily created anything, but I've linked my Gypsy on Cricut Craft Room and thought about how I am going to do my Cinderella Castle page and how I am going to make the card with the minnow on it.  That's part of the process - right?

But on to the important stuff.  It is Wednesday which means that Julia, bless her heart, has brought us all together to share out crafting spaces.  If you want to see much more interesting craft spaces than mine go here - WOYWW 204 - The Stamping Ground.

Here is mine:

This is Peanut sleeping in my chair.  Fortunately I have two.

And this is the messy space I call my work desk.  I did flip my calendar to April, but alas it is the first day of May which puts me behind again.  :-(

I hope you have a great day and be inspired.
