Luke 2:  33 - 35  The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him.  Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: “This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against,  so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.”

Luke 2:  27 - 32   Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required,  Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:
“Sovereign Lord, as you have promised,
you may now dismiss[d] your servant in peace.
For my eyes have seen your salvation,
which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:

a light for revelation to the Gentiles,

More Valentine's Cards

I was a card making machine the other night.  I knew I would be watching my granddaughter and I needed to get my class cards done so I could get them up to the shop.  They were actually due on the 15th of December, but that day came and went.  I'm pretty proud of myself for getting them up there before the first of January.  I needed to make 4 cards, but actually ended up making 5.  And I have parts for even more cards.

Here is the next in the Valentine's Series.

I Just Love You Card Recipe

This absolutely adorable hedgehog is from - you guessed it - Penny Black.  I stamped it on watercolor card stock in Versamark and heat set it in black embossing powder from Nuvo.  Zig Clean Color Clean Brush Markers were used along with water to color this sweet image.  The heart cut outs are from Taylored Expressions.  The sentiment is in the set with the hedgehog.  I would link to the set, but I can't find it.  It is adorable though.  I tried to keep it simple so the focus is on the cute critter and the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in next time for another paper crafting or t-shirt project.  Have a great day and enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

Luke 2:  25 - 26  Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. 26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.

Yep - It's Time for Sappy Love Cards

Christmas is over and even though I should be making Happy New Year cards - I needed to get my class cards done for the month of January.  Cause we need to make those sappy love cards for February in January.  I guess everyone doesn't work better under pressure like me.  And sappy love cards are not really my thing as I like cards that make people laugh.  However, more people like to express their Valentine's feelings with mushy stuff - so I am going to indulge them.  :-)

In my defense, these aren't terribly sappy.  :-)

Hugs Card Recipe

This card was the result of leftovers from the other cards I made.  These are always my favorites because they just come together without struggle.  The background is made from an envelope included in a sentiment stamp set from Penny Black - Smitten.  Tim Holtz Oxide Distress Ink in Wilted Violet and Picked Raspberries were used to stamp the background and also to create the heart in the background.  The little cut out hearts, also in those colors, were cut out from the left over back ground that the heart was cut out of.  The heart in the foreground was created using Yupo paper and metallic Color Burst.  Hugs is from Elizabeth Crafts.  The mat is Bazzill Bling card stock.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in next time for another paper crafting or t-shirt project.  Have a great day and enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

Luke 2:  22 - 24  When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses,Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord  (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”), and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.”

WOYWW 447 - So Busy.....

It is Wednesday and that means it's time to take a picture of my desk and share it on Julia's Stamping Ground.  I cleaned up my desk Christmas Eve eve and yet you would never be able to tell it.  Christmas is officially over and it's on the Valentine's Day.  Actually, I should be working on New Year's cards since I missed sending Christmas cards.  It is next on my list.

Here is my desk:

That's my desk this week.  I have been remiss in visiting desks the last couple weeks, but I am going to visit desks tonight.  I am on vacation and I am watching my granddaughter today.  I am sure I will be exhausted by the evening.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in next time for another paper crafting or t-shirt project.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate this wonderful holiday.

May you and your families have a wonderful day.  And may everyone take the Christmas spirit with them every day throughout the year.

Luke 2:  15 - 20  So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Congrats in Christmas Colors

A friend at work asked me to make a special congratulations card for a co worker.  I decided to use Christmas colors since it is the season.  :-)

Congratulations Card Recipe

This card started with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Candied Apple and Lucky Clover inked on watercolor card stock.  I lightly spritzed the card stock with water to get the effect you see.  There is glitter paper as the mat behind the card front.  Congratulations die from Elizabeth Crafts was used to cut out foil card stock after Stick It was placed on the back to make it easy to adhere to the card front.  the holly leaves are from Impression Obsession and the berries are red enamel dots.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in next time for another paper crafting or t-shirt project.  Have a great day and enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

Luke 2:  13 - 15  Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

WOYWW 446 - Fresh Flowers and Lots of Projects

It is Wednesday and that means it is time to take a picture of my desk and share it on Julia's Stamping Ground with the rest of the desk hoppers from around the world.  My desk is in Christmas crazy mode as you will see.

That is my desk this week.  I am stressing out and finishing up last minute projects.  I've also been pressing last minute shirt orders.  My to do list is still quite long.

I will be able to visit desks because it's sushi night and I am going to be home.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Tune in next time for another paper crafting or t-shirt project.  Have a great day and enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

Holiday Series - T-shirt #9 - Oh deer

I just can't make myself enough t-shirts.  I have no idea why.  Well, maybe I have a bit of an obsessive personality.  Maybe.  I usually need 2 of everything, but in this case, 2 Christmas shirts are just not enough.  I don't know what I am going to wear in January.  I better get busy on that.  In the meantime, here is the latest shirt I've made.  It is adorable, but I can't take credit for it.  I purchased it in at Etsy shop - SoCuteAppliques and this image lives up to the name of the shop.

Shirt #9

Oh deer T-shirt Recipe

So I brought this image into my Cricut Design Space software - easy peasy.  There were several colors in this image as you can see.  I made the bow, nose and the heart the same color red.  The inside of the bow I wanted in flat vinyl so I made it a slightly different red.  The inner ear was a brown, but I knew I wanted it pink so I changed the color.  I will have to do a youtube video on how to do that.  I initially cut out the 'oh' in black, but after deciding on a navy blue t-shirt, I cut it out in white.  This shirt is adorable!  I will definitely be purchasing more from this seller.

Holiday Series - Shirt #8

Still going strong on those holiday shirts.  Today's shirt is one that has some less than traditional Christmas colors.  I wanted to get some pink and green into this holiday season and this shirt does that.  I believe the image came from the Silhouette Design Store.  That pink glitter HTV was a bear to weed.  I don't know if it is old or what, but I think the Cricut Bright Pad would have been a lot of help.  I sure hope Santa brings me one for Christmas.

All Is Merry and Bright T-shirt Recipe

This shirt is not your typical Christmas color and that is exactly what I was going for.  I outlined the images in Silhouette Studio using the offset feature.  I used white vinyl for the offset so the words would pop.  Hot pink glitter heat transfer vinyl was cut out using my Silhouette Cameo for the saying.  Have I said that glitter was a bear to weed?  I started it one night - put it aside and finished the next day.  I had to redo the M because I lost part of it.  I also had to redo the dot on the i.  I am not going to share the words I used to describe my frustration while talking to myself.  I was going to make the light bulbs three different colors, but then decided just to go with silver.  Not a tough one, except for the weeding.

Holiday Series T-Shirt #7 - Joy to the World

Yep - more shirts.  I started on another one tonight but got frustrated while weeding hot pink glitter.  Some glitter HTV just peels perfectly.  I don't know what brand this hot pink is, but I am not happy with it.  I decided I would stop and resume weeding tomorrow.  I sure hope I get that Cricut Bright Light for Christmas.

This shirt was pretty easy - one cut of gold htv and press on a navy blue t-shirt.

Joy to the World T-shirt Recipe

I picked this one up on the Silhouette Design Store.  It is so simple and yet so elegant.  I thought at first I was going to put it on a dark red shirt, but then decided the navy blue looked more like the night sky.  The flat gold htv is perfect on this dark colored shirt.  It was cut out using my Silhouette Cameo 1 - yep I still use my first Cameo.

Happy Christmas Card Recipe

My Chameleon pencils were the perfect medium for coloring this adorable image.  I think I missed some of the green on the tree.  Let's just pretend there was a lot of snow on the tree.  The snowflakes are from My Favorite Things.

Take some time to enter this fun challenge and you could win 2 images from All Dressed Up.

WOYWW 445 - A Clean Up and Progress

It is Wednesday and that means it is time to take a picture of my desk and share it on Julia's Stamping Ground for the whole world to see.  But even more fun than that is going and snooping around the desk of fellow crafters from around the world.

Here is my desk this week:

I have dog grooming tonight so I will be late in getting around to visit.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

Bubble Greeting Cards - Hello Friend

It's time for another break from holiday shirts.  I will say I pressed 2 more shirts so there will be more coming.  In the mean time, I have been making some cards with the one of the stamp sets from last months Taylored Expressions release called Bubble Greetings.  Love, love, love these big 'fluffy' sentiments.  So many possibilities.  As a matter of fact, I am doing a class with them at Craft Inn using three different sentiments and three different techniques.

Hello Friend Card Recipe

This card was very simple, but doesn't necessarily look simple.  I stamped the Bubble Sentiment in Versamark ink and heat set it in black embossing powder.  I took Tim Holtz oxide inks in the pastel rainbow colors and rubbed the pad on my craft mat.  I spritzed the ink with water and used that to paint the letters in the word friend.  I made extra purple and flicked it on the water color card stock with my paint brush.  I matted the card front on a piece of purple card stock and put that on a card base.  That was it.  I might have added some enamel dots after I took the picture.  All cards need enamel dots - right?

Luke 2:  1 - 3   In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.  (This was the first census that took place whileQuirinius was governor of Syria.)  And everyone went to their own town to register.

Holiday Series T-shirt #6 - Jingle

Yep - the holiday shirts continue, but I was only able to make one for myself this weekend so I am behind.  I struggled with the color combination for my Twas the Night Before Christmas t-shirt and then I got busy making everyone else's t-shirts.  Today's shirt was a cut I bought from the Silhouette Design Store.  It's just a fun shirt along the lines of the Believe shirt we did last year.

Jingle T-shirt Recipe

I started with one of your traditional holiday color t-shirts - green.  Jingle came from the Silhouette Design Store.  Since I used scraps to cut out the vinyl, this shirt was quite economical.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in next time for another t-shirt or card project.  Have a great day and enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

Matthew 2:  9 - 12  After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.  When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.  On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.  And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

Holiday Series - T-shirt #5

Yep - I have yet another holiday t-shirt.  You might wonder why I made my Christmas shirts using t-shirts instead of long sleeve shirts or those fabulous raglands or baseball shirts.  Those fabulous raglands and baseball shirts can't be found on sale at Michaels and JoAnn's for $2 - $2.50.  But being cheap is not my only reason.  I am always cold.  My furnace not working when it's 25 degrees outside is not the only reason I am cold.  And don't worry we have a new one on the way and a gas fireplace to keep us warm.  But I digress.  Back to my always being cold.  I am always cold and I like to layer.  T-shirts can always be worn over the top of a long sleeve t-shirt which keeps me warm.  And if I make a mistake on my shirt, I don't feel like I have wasted a lot of money.  I've made a mistake on a ragland and it always bums me out.

Here is t-shirt #5:

Gina's Christmas T-Shirt Recipe

I am calling this Gina's Christmas T-shirt because she found the original online.

When I saw it I wanted one too.  I didn't want to buy this one - I wanted to make my own.  I mean Gina's.  I wanted to make one for Gina.  LOL  I searched high and low for an image of a deer with Christmas lights in his antlers.  It was nowhere to be found.  I tried to create one myself using my Silhouette Studio, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted.  I found one that was close on Etsy, but it had ornaments in its antlers instead of Christmas Lights.  There was a custom order button so I contacted the designer and she created this image.  I highly recommend her Etsy Shop - JenCraftDesign.  I am making Gina's this weekend.

Matthew 2:  7 - 8 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.  He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”

Holiday Series - T-shirt #4

Card break is over and it's time for holiday shirt #4.  Shirt #4 and shirt #5 are going to be similar but different.  They are both deer with lights on their antlers.  The deer shape is different though.  Both of these deer were purchased from Etsy shop JenCraftDesigns.

Here is shirt #4:

Snowflake Deer 1 T-shirt Recipe

I found this deer on Etsy, but it had ornaments in it's antlers instead of Christmas lights.  I noticed there was a custom order button for the seller and requested the deer with Christmas lights.  She created this lovely creature.  I pulled it into Cricut Design Space and cut it out with my Cricut Maker.
